Crappie Fishing Survey
A few years ago I found out how fisheries biologists make predictions about populations and fishing for lakes and rivers. Crappie are one of the most popular fish in the south and they survey the populations each year. The methods they use were very interesting to me.

Creel Census Reports Give You Valuable Information That Will Help You Catch Bass
Alabama and Georgia both have programs that compile creel census reports from bass tournaments. The information gathered can help you decide where to go to catch bass in those states. Some of the information may surprise you.
Both the above states post their information on-line where you can access it. Does your state compile such information? Do you use it? Share your comments on these creel census programs in the comments section below.

Finesse Fishing - Catching Bass Finesse Fishing
Finesse fishing is using light line and small lures to catch fish. Sometimes it is just about the only way to catch bass. You should always have a light outfit with you ready for those tough times when finesse fishing is the best way, and maybe the only way, to catch bass.

KISS Fishing - Too Much Fishing Equipment
There is an old saying KISS - keep it simple, stupid. This can apply to fishing. All too often we get too involved in our equipment and forget to think and catch fish. Slow down, think about what you are doing and why you are fishign and keep it simple.

Getting Kids Started Fishing
If we don't take kids fishing our sport has no future. If you have kids or grand kids, take them fishing. Expand that to nieces, nephews, friends kids and even volunteer your time with kids groups. You will benefit from the experience and the kids will love it.

Five Species Of Alaska Salmon
There are five species of salmon found in Alaska waters. These Pacific salmon all run up freshwater rivers and streams to spawn then they die. They are fun to catch and great eating. I was lucky enough to catch three of the five species on my trip to Alaska this past August. We had some of the Coho filets shipped home and they are fantastic when grilled.
