Subject: Salmon & Steelhead

(11-20-00 ) The Steelhead fishing in the middle & upper Rogue is slowing down, but some fish are still being caught. Drifted roe would be the best bet to catch these late summer Steelhead. The Chetco river at Brookings should be in full swing for the fall Salmon, but due to the lack of rain there is not even enough water in the river to float down it. When I checked the other day the CFS flow was 188. For good fishing you need 3000. It looks like a little rain tommorrow & again on Friday the day after Turkey day. However the systems really do not look strong enough to due the Chetco any good. So just what due we have to look forward to. Well if it rains look to the Chetco. If no rain stay home & wait for the winter Steelhead to get going in late Dec. on the Rogue & other Oregon rivers. Good luck to ya. Ron
