Subject: Steelhead Fishing, Rogue River, Oregon


( 2-9-01 ) Still we have no change in the below normal rain fall for the area. The river is still as low as it has been most of the winter. Fishing reports are picking up alittle. The best I've heard of have come for below Rainy Falls, 30 miles below Grants Pass. They are seeing fish below the falls & catching a few of them. You also hear of someone get one here or there further up the river. However it is along ways from good or normal fishing. I went out on Tuesday. The wind blew, it was cold, sleet coming down. We never had a bite, but we did see some winter fish jumping around. They just did not want to bite what we were throwing at them, which was just about everything I had in the old tackle box. Thats the lastest for the old Rogue River. Think rain & lots of it. Good luck, Ron
