Subject: Steelhead Fishing, Rogue River

( 3-2-01 ) Lets call it like it is, the big D, Drought. We are at less than 50% of our normal rain fall. The Rogue river is still dirt low & gin clear. However some Steelhead are showing up below Grants Pass. If you run into a pocket of them you can do ok. Curt was down below Galice the other day & landed three on drifted roe. Not red hot but worth a try if you can put up with the low water. It makes it hard to drift fish with the low water flows. You might want to try drifting roe or nightcrawler with a slip bobber. Good Luck, Ron
