Subject: Good Fly Fishing This Week

Fly fishers will find good dry fly fishing this week on the Wallowa and Grande Ronde rivers where golden stoneflies are in the air from Wallowa to Boggan’s Oasis in Washington state. Over the weekend I landed 30 trout in a couple hours and missed 3X that many on dry-fly imitations. Most trout were about a foot, but I landed 15 and 16 inchers in the Ronde and broke off three nice fish in the Wallowa. In addition to the stoneflies are good caddis hatches. Nymphs are particularly good for the caddis hatches, with occassional good dry-fly action.
Fishing is good all day, but afternoons seem to be best this week during the current cool weather system that is over the northwest.
