Oregon Fishing Report updated for
July 21 - July 26, 2000

Fishing was a little more consistent this week but you definitely had to be in the right place at the right time of the tide. The oversize opener in the sanctuary at Bonneville Dam was a hot one! Not much pressure either. Ocean coho and some chinook out of Astoria is not even a challenge. Sandy river, closed to springers July 15th, continues to entertain steelhead anglers. Santiam Rivers remain a prime destination for steelies and late-season springers. Deschutes is heating up for summer steelhead with hot native fish in the mix. Walowa Lake has big kokanee in deep water. Atlantics are hitting at Hosmer Lake. Surf Perch fishing is good, even for fly fishermen. Bottom fishing remains excellent offshore. Crabbing is good at Yaquina and Tillamook Bays. The subscription version of TGF has complete details and predictions for the coming week.
