Subject: Ronde Update - Sept 30, 2000

Sept. 30, 2000, Steelhead counts at Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River have been very good, with a couple days tallying over 4,000 fish, and fishing in the Grande Ronde River should begin on schedule in mid-October. The water level presently is low, at 738 cfs, but could rise if the approaching weather system leaves some rain. Water temperatures are excellent, sometimes in the 40s and never above the lower 60s.
