Lake Lavon

Water Temperature: 89 - 94
Water Clarity: 3’

I have had several guide trips on Lake Lavon this week starting with Bob Shaw & his son on Sunday. Monday, I had repeat customer Ronnie McGranahan. Tuesday, Mike Hall & his son. Then on Wednesday, I fished with repeat customer Alan Gustavson. Some of these trips were both bass and sand bass trips, while others were just bass trips. It seems I have lost the topwater bite with the bass. Every morning we started except for the last morning of the past four days we threw buzz-baits and pop’r without any success. We did catch a good number of fish on Lockhart chartreuse/white spinnerbaits. After I figured the fish had plenty of time to hit our topwaters we’d switch over to using spinnerbaits and the fish would begin to bite for us. The other baits that were consistent were the Lockhart white jig tipped with a Gene Larew white salt chunk and a Texas-rigged pumpkin or red shad worm. Three of the fish we caught this week were well over 6lbs. and one just over 7 pounds. The sand bass bite has changed a little over this past week. The fish are no longer along the points and banks but are right out in the middle of the lake. They are also schooling later in the morning, like 9:30am. We caught them on Lockhart Chuck-n-spins and Blakemore roadrunners in white and chartreuse. For all of you who fished with me and are mentioned in this report "Thank you" I look forward to fishing with you all again in the future!

If I can be of more help or assistance regarding a trip or "Bassin’ Class" please contact me at 972-414-5189 / 800-965-0350 or by e-mail at FISHWJEFF@msn.com. The "Fat Girls" are up and can be seen at http://www.fishinwithjeff.com and you can receive more information on my full-time guide service & "Bassin' Class." I am currently booking trips for summer. Lavon has an abundance of crappie, bass & sandbass. The sandbass fishing is a great way to entertain customers, new fishermen & kids! The next "Bassin’ Class" is scheduled for July 28th, the cost is $75.00 for adults & $35.00 for students through high school including a $25.00 deposit. Until next time……..Good Luck & Tight-Lines!!!
