Subject: Stick Masrh report
Hello Friends - The last three days have been busy for our clients reeling in plenty of bass. The guide did catch 1 bass in three trips. The clients over 80 bass. 4 trophy 10 pound fish and 2 nine pounders a half a dozen 8, 7, and 6 pound bass each were in the total. That's quality bassin folk's. The compound is very consistent and producing. Now two of the last three trips were half a day adventures. Add it all up and that's some great fishing. If your planning on a Florida trophy bass fishing trip you should come to the Stickmarsh/Farm13 compound. Again we did all this on live wild golden shiners in what now is turning out to be the uncrowded farm 13 south end. No secrets here folk's we are not moving north until the big gals do. All of the Trophy bass we landed and most of the 8 and 9 pound bass caught were beat up on there sides with raw spots on the bottom of there tails and egged out. The marks on the sides come from the males slapping the eggs out. The tails get marked from fanning. The girls looked a little tired but fought hard and were released unharmed. The water temps are all ready in the low eighties and worming has picked up drastically. We will be backing off the shiners and throwing more plastic in the near future. A good mix and match is in order now. The S. W. corner in farm 13 never produced a trophy bass for us this season. Now we did not spend a lot of time fishing there but when we did it never seemed to hold big bass for us. The truly big bass have all come on the far south end of farm13 near the end of all three n/s ditches. Fish close to the ditch edges and use plenty of bait. Yes, a simple technique with an easy location. No rocket science just a great fishery. The artificial guys can come and catch a ton right now. The big bass hit worms too. Senko's and one of the many knock off's (chompers, wave, stik-o, sink-o, Kinami , and Jogger) come in a variety of colors and sizes. They all work well. Some are longer and some are fatter some sink slower but in the end they will produce well as a group. Fill your box and come to the stickmarsh and try them all. My bet says you catch bass on all of them. Hydrilla is taking over some of the South end of farm13. The bass have moved out from shore and some to the stickmarsh side. We will test fish a few days near twin palms and in Pandora's box to get a feel for just what type of quality can be caught there. Last season we hammered them in there. It was the best fishing by far for us mid February thru late May. The winds have settled down and the sun popped out. Sun tan lotion is mandatory so is plenty of water. Mornings better than afternoons. So spool them up and cast them out nows the time to catch a bunch of bass.
