Subject: Fishing Report - Adelaide Metropolitan Area

Northern blue crab news suggested a high number of females plus some crabs with soft shells during the moulting process. One angler disappointed out from St Kilda moved in to very shallow water and boated his limit of 40.

Other metropolitan boat catches suggest good numbers of garfish, mackerel, tommies and snook across the coast.

Whiting remain patchy, the best reports coming from Brighton and, to a lesser extent Somerton.

A few snapper have been caught at Glenelg, but the fish are not holding on any particular ground for long.

Gary Benett caught mullet, bream and garfish near Scullers Reserve in West Lakes on Saturday, while another angler caught some large mullet from the Garden Island mangrove walkway.

The Patawalonga yielded bream and undersize school mulloway, and there are some legal bream in the Onkaparinga at night. Big mullet were caught from Port Noarlunga jetty and Sellicks Beach. Squid were active at Hallet Cove and salmon near Horseshoe Reef, Christies Beach.
