nice additions! :-)

by the way people, OTG means On The Ground - basically states that you lay your sinker or lure on the ground behind the rod.

the side cast builds distance because its the easiest way to load the rod, although the disadvantage is that if you dont release the line properly, your lure/sinker could end up going sideways and not straight out.

the pendulum swing is a true distance casting tecnique. it is HARD to learn and is very effective with conventional tackle (could be done with spinning tackel as well) it increases your distance by around 15-30% (in some instances 50% or more!) depending on your execution. this is the cast that tournament distance casters use and some even cast as far as 700 feet...easy! it goes by one of the laws of physics - an already accelerating body can easily be further accelerated faster than a body that is at rest - or something like that. :-)
