Hello Bart, You can check this rod at Barracuda, which should be a great rod for trolling but I doubt it would be much help casting light lures. You will have to go and handle it to get a feel in order to decide. http://www.barracudadubai.com/services/general/shopping/product_detail .php?prodid=137 If casting lures up to 4oz is your primary purpose, then go for a certain Penn rod available in Dubai at a certain outlet. I am not disclosing the ID as Dylan told me about it and asked if he should buy it. Now, that probably was the only piece left so call and check with Dylan; if he does not want it, he should be happy to tell you where to get it. You can easily troll CD18-MAGs with this rod; just make sure you put it in a holder that is 45 degrees to the gunwale rather than perpendicular to it, as this rod does have a light tip action. I have a conventional version of this rod and have caught a 123 lb cobia with it. It has a tremendous action when fighting a fish and lots of lifting power due to a very strong butt. I cannot be 100% sure of the spinning version, but Dollar for Dollar, no rod can ever beat my conventional 15-40 lb version. I just love it! You can couple either of the above rods with a decent quality 7000 - 9000 size spinning reel such as Okuma V80A, Penn 850SS/950SS or even a Daiwa BG90. Hope this helps, Ijlal |
