Gulf Grouper and Thunder Report
5 March 07

30 Feet of water all the Grunt and Grouper you want to catch are hanging out around the bigger reef areas. Squid wings sliced thin, and Threadfin Herring have worked the best last week. One Grouper caught by Lyn Kruger; using cut Squid was caught with a 10 pound line spinning outfit weighted a whopping 16 pounds. Who ever said Grouper don’t eat squid was mistaken. Many nice fish close to this size were caught lately on similar tackle. The Grunts are still unusually large for this time of the year; but no body’s complaining. Call me if you’re ready to catch some Grunts, Grouper, and Sea Bass!
