Asaad,

I usually give my rods(fishing rods) :-) a good shower and scrubbing to rid of all the sands and salt particle build ups and after that wipe them with a dry towel and let them dry naturally.

This prolong the lifespan of the guides and guides' frames and any other parts which are made of metal.

Additionally it also rid of the stinking smell of both bait and fish as well.

As for the reels, as mentioned by Fish King and Hatem, watertight reels can be rinsed under the tap and then let to dry, otherwise just wipe the reels with damp cloth and the spools which doesn't house any bearings can be rinsed under the tap and then let to dry naturally.

As the seawater here is quite saline, please clean your rod and reels after using thenm to prolong their lives :-)

Cheers!
