Abdul, sorry man, didnt intend it to sound too harsh. no offence intended...just that sometimes, when we research a bit, we learn new things. The contest between fireline & braid has been ongoing for a long time. Fireline-braid is a new product & a vairation & combination of 2 products. this was developed so that fireline maintains its roundness (fireline is usally a bit flat), increase strength & for the company to make more money (hahaha). Jokes apart, the fireline braid cost twice the price of regular fireline. (I'm not kidding, its like paying for both fireline & braid and getting just 1 spool) Fireline on its own is a gelspun line, with the filaments fused together, while braid is braided together. I do hope that some of you realise the difference. Buy a regular fireline & wear out the end.....you will then be able to grab an edge & strip a strand of fibre out.....this is proof enough that it is fused & not braided......... Try doing the same to braid...its impossible to strip any strand off. Simple example: A table is not a chair & a chair is not a table, although both can be made of wood. However, a stool can be used as a chair (seat) & it can also be used as a table to keep things on (this would make it a combination of both & would still be made of the same material) in the case of these superlines.....they are almost the same, but molecular structure & formation pattern have been altered in each case. Anyway, I dont want to talk about this anymore...so lets close the issue. You are right Abdul, lets use this forum constructively, but lets not forget to double check on info before we can give it out. It becomes very easy for beginers to digest wrong information without knowing the difference as they are eager to learn. |
