Went out on a boat fishing trip on Saturday morning with Deira Marine Tours with Anton,Zaman, Mohammed and two new friends namely Khaled and Ahmed. The sea was quite choppy. Started to push out at 06.30a.m. Arriving at the first spot, Mohammed, Anton and myself started to jig. Just at the second cast....when the bailarm was still opened, something considerably big hit my jig! It was pulling the line quite fast. After tightening the drag setting, I managed to slow it down but after pumping it for a while, it cameback with a sudden burst of energy! Anyway, after a while managed to land the 5kg barracuda, with Anton's kind assistance. Got a few more hits but no solid hook-ups. Others doesn't seemed to be as lucky with their jigs initially......for some unknown reasons. Next few spots were not as fruitful for jigging but others who were bottom fishing managed to bring up some sheary, sultan ibrahim, bream and trevally. As the sea was getting much rougher and wind was blowing stronger we decided to head back to the first few spots. I managed to bring up two king fish of 2.5kg and 1.5kg and another barracuda of 1.5kg. Mohammed also managed to hook-up a Hamour of 2kg. Anton also managed to hook-up a 1.5kg hamour on a jig...(his first fish on jig!) We decided to call it a day at about 10.30a.m as we saw thick clouds developing and noticed that there were storms developing. Total catch was estimated to be about 20kgs. Would have been better if the weather was permitting and the sea calmer
