Jay/Adam,

Just incase if U guys haven't knew these facts already on the Okuma V system reels;

1) V55a - the a behind the number indicates that its the second(latest/current) model. without the a will mean that its the first model...produced in 2006 or earlier.

2) V55S - the S indicates that its the high speed version....high gear ratio designed for popping and high speed jigging.

3) V55Sa - The S and a indicates that its the current model having a high gear ratio.

4) Additionally, in some large models (80,65)there will be an extra handle shaft included in the box. This is due to the fact that each of the shaft can only be used for either left or right handle operation otherwise the cranking will loosen the handle if the wrong shaft is used.

5) An extra spool (exactly similar to the first one) is also included.

These are quite a good "value for money" reels.

Almost picked one of these up.....till I set my eyes on the Shimano Stellas (10000FA and 20000FA)...... which made me dig deep into my pockets :-(

Ciao!
