Subject: Lingcod Season Opening

Lingcod season opened July 1st in our area. Captain B's fishermen got two Alaska State Trophy Certificates for Lings caught yesterday. Toby Love, of Homer and Nicole Vos of Rockford, MI were the successful fishermen. Toby's weighed in at 60 lbs and was 54.5 in. long and Nicole's at 54 1/2 lbs and 53.5 in. Trophy guidelines for Lingcod is a Ling over 45 lbs - State record is 70 lbs.
Halibut fishing has been great as well - Fishermen are already planning their 2002 visits to Homer.
