I went fishing in the Santa Monica Bay with three internet superstar fishermen, Jason “jscrib”, Ben “Fishing Dentist” and Chris “Gold Cast” aboard the “Big Drum”.

Ben was in town for the weekend visiting his family and was jonesing to catch some critters. I saw Chris at the Fred Hall Show and invited him to jump on board, since he was Ben’s best man at his wedding.

The water was off color and cold but we still managed to catch over 100+ critters and 12 different species. Calico Bass, Sand Bass, Sheephead, Brown Rockfish, Tree Fish, Sculpin, Halfmoon, Black Perch, Blacksmith Persh, Rock Wrasse, Smelt, Mackerel and 2 Sea Cucumbers.

Jason took a picture of this super loud speedboat getting ready to make a two hour round trip to San Nicholas Island and back. lol.
