Subject: offshore fishing
The fishing offshore has been steadily picking up these last couple of weeks, the grouper are getting a bit easier to find and keepers are coming up on a regular basis. I've been fishing the bottom areas out to about 20 miles or so and doing real well, the rods are bent from beggining to end with grunts, porgies, snapper and small grouper. The larger grouper are there but it takes patience and perseverence to get one. The other fish are everywhere and constantly on the bite, we've taken some really nice lane, mangrove and yellowtail snapper lately while on the hunt for the big grouper. The other day I took some nice black, gag and red grouper, then the weather blew up and I've been docked for a few days, tommorow on the other hand I am looking forward to getting out and having a slamfest! I'm counting on the bad weather to have turned them on and I really think it has, but I will have to find out on tommorows charter. The king Mackeral are out there as well, or at least they were before all this weather hit, they have probably moved on by now, the storms have a tendancy to move them out. Again I will find that out tommorow, Any questions I can answer or if you would like to do some fishing aboard our 30 foot John Allmand, fully equipt with all electronics, a full functional head and a spacious cabin, give me a call @ 941-282-FISH or on the boat @ 941-229-FISH or drop me an email @ Tarponcapt@aol.com, now get out there and catch'em up! |
