The unseasonably warm temperatures here in Mosquito Lagoon have kept the baitfish schools around. Our water temperatures in the Mosquito Lagoon have been hovering around 80 degrees on most days. Big gator trout have returned to the shallow flats and can be found in the sandy patches waiting to ambush unsuspecting prey. A stealthy approach followed by an accurate cast with a DOA shrimp has been effective on the trophy trout.

Redfish are still willing to eat a mullet imitation such as the DOA Baitbuster. Reel the lure along the surface for some great topwater action. The shrimp has been working well on tailing redfish throughout the day.

The tarpon moved out of Mosquito Lagoon after the cold front moved through a few weeks ago but can still be found around Ponce Inlet in Daytona and along the central Florida beaches.
