Subject: The Other Side For Yellowfin

We left the dock at 5:00 a.m., cleared Sebastian Inlet and headed east towards tuna town some 75 miles out on the other side of the gulf stream. The ocean was flat and after sun up, we were able to pick up the speed. The four hour trip went by quickly as we anticipated hot action fishing for yellowfin tuna. Our first pack of birds were spotted at 68 miles but they were on small skipjack tuna. At 78 miles we found a small pack of birds and caught 2 yellowfin to about 35 pounds. For the next four hours we ran around the ocean between 75 to 90 miles out chasing birds spotted on the radar. The total for the day was only four 34-40 pounds but it was a fun trip anyway. The other three boats out there had from one to six tuna and it was the consenses that it was too calm, and the tuna were staying deep. I can hardly wait till our next trip.
