Star Fish Log 7/30 – 8/2Great LBI Fishing!

7/30 AM – Captain Vic and mate JD went reef fishing off Beach Haven, Great day. Lots of black bass on the reefs off Beach Haven. GSS is producing nicely. Some fluke & blue fish mixed in. Great brown shark ate the bluefish when we sent him back down on a steel leader. FUN.

8/1 OFFSHORE – Captain Carl and mate Tom. Much smoother. We ran off the Barnegat Ridge to see what we could see. What we found were nice sized bonito and Spanish mackerel. We ran into bluefish on the way home. We had a blast. Brought home only enough to eat, but could have kept catching all day.

8/2 OFFSHORE – Still smooth seas. We ran off the Barnegat Ridge to catch some more of the nice sized bonito and Spanish mackerel. Fishing was even better. We had fish on as soon as we got back up to speed. This time we added some skipjack and frigate mackerel to the list of species caught. When the storm clouds arose in the west, we scuttled for shore. Got to the dock before the rain started. Wonderful trip. Again we brought home only enough to eat, but could have kept catching all day.

8/3 AM Back on the reefs with Captain Vic and JD. Fish still bite and the weather holds. Hope you all will have fun too.
