Subject: New Season Underway for Television & Radio

New Season Underway for Television & Radio
By Rich Johnson/Fishing Editor

"The Fishing Line" television show returns for our second season on WLNY TV-55, but fans of the show know this will be our 7th season on the airwaves since debuting on Extra Help in 1995. Many of you have watched the show grow
from infancy to the dynamic and educational show it is has become and I thank you for that. I promise you will not be disappointed this season either since we have many knew and innovative techniques and surprises in store for you. The show returns this Saturday morning May 5 at 9 a.m. on WLNY TV-55. For more info log onto www.thefishingline.com.

We have all new episodes for 2001 and each show has more features including segmented areas for detailed graphics and animation of the rigs & tackle used on that week's show. Another GIANT and important feature is Ariel Footage of each inlet and port we sail out of this season. Just last week we shot video footage in a small aircraft of each and every inlet on Long Island from 600 to 1500 foot altitudes. You can actually see tide lines and current directions from here and this should help us all in our fishing this season. This will be added to the maps and nautical charts we already use!

Other segments on the show allow your viewer participation with Boating & Fishing Tips of the week or the Angler's Photo of the Week. All three segments encourage viewers send us their tips or photos to use on the show with their name given full credit and they can win free fishing tackle and an all expense charter boat trip for themselves and four friends for the inshore species of their choice courtesy of the Bottom Line charter boat (www.bottomlinefishin.com). Boater's World is offering $25 gift certificates for your boating tips if sent to us. The grand prizewinner this season wins $250 worth of Gift Certificates from the Boater's World in their area.

Here's a sneak preview of the first few shows: May 5: Striped bass on live Bunker with Capt. Nick Montello of the Bottom Line Charter boat in Freeport. We had several fish over 30 pounds! May 12th: Exciting diamond jigging for alligator blues to 15 pounds with Capt. Dave Lawrence of Celtic Horizon charters off Orient Point. May 19: Driftboat Action for Steelhead in the Salmon River with Capt. Tom Burke of Cold Steel Sportfishing in Altmar, NY. May 26: Hot surface action for Stripers off Breezy Point with Capt. Henry Feeney. June 2: NY Bight /Sandy Hook Weakfish with Capt. All Ristori of New Jersey

SEASON PREMIERE! The new season for our Thursday night "Weekend Fishing Forecast" Show is Thursday, May 3 from 7:30 to 8 p.m. on our radio home WGBB 1240AM radio. I'll be calling around to various area tackle shops and party boats getting the latest info, telling you what's biting and where. These reports from the previous days, but that Thursday of each week so the precious free time you have is put to use in your fishing success. This show as well as our Saturday afternoon 2-1/2 hour broadcast are heard live on the Internet by going to www.thefishingline.com.
