Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula

There are some big yellowtail kingfish at the end of Wallaroo jetty, probably attracted by the ample supply of garfish there. One was landed, while others were hooked but broke off around the jetty pylons

Blue crabs can be found half way out along the jetty, and local beaches both sides of the town are yielding yellowfin whiting and flathead.

Boat anglers in the bay caught garfish, snook and blueys, and some larger snapper are coming from the Steamer Channel at Port Hughes. Some bag limit whiting catches were boated at Port Rickaby, and there were garfish and tommies at the jetty.

Big tommies are biting well aroud the bottom of the peninsula for shore and jetty anglers, and there are squid at Stenhouse Bay and Marion Bay jetties.

Charter crews boated nannygai, snapper and blue morwong out from Pondalowie Bay.

At Hillocks Drive, snook were caught in Treasure Cove and there were small salmon to 750g at Butlers Beach and Salmon Beach.

Stansbury had whiting up to bag limits south of the spit, plenty of big garfish in the bay, few squid and no blue crabs yet. Tommies were the main catch from the jetty.
