Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula

Windy conditions kept most boat anglers ashore at Port Pirie, where the only news was of increased numbers of blue crabs.

Wallaroo has garfish, squid, mackerel and blueys from the jetty, with a few legal snapper caught there on Saturday and Monday.

Boat crews struggled to find whiting and snapper, but there were garfish and tommies, and a few nice flathead were caught from the breakwaters.

Port Hughes has plenty of whiting south of Cape Elizabeth and some snapper well out in the Steamer Channel.

Whiting were also active at Point Turton, where garfish dabbers fared well on Saturday night. The jetty has tommies, squid and a few garfish.

There are tommies and squid at Stenhouse Bay jetty, and snapper around Althorpe Island when boats can get there.

There were big sweep at Hillocks Point, snook at dawn at Treasure Cove and a few salmon from the beaches.

Boat anglers at Port Vincent found garfish, snook and tommies, with some nice flathead near the reef in front of the golf course.
