Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula

Port Augusta is crawling with blue crabs, good catches coming from the shacks area right up to the old bridge. There are rugger snapper and small kingfish near the power station, and more kingfish around the town wharf.

Slow weekend tides didn't help anglers at Wallaroo, where garfish and blue crabs were the main catch. Some reasonable whiting hauls came from the Ballast Ground, while the jetty turned on tommies.

Boat crews at Port Rickaby have been catching whiting by day and snapper from dusk, while garfish and squid have been consistent for jetty triers.

Paul Hanna and his charter crew caught eight legal snapper and plenty of small ones out from Pondalowie Bay, where mullet can be found near the boat ramp and snook around the moorings.

Other mullet news came from Gleesons Landing, while salmon were best at West Cape, Shell Beach and Salmon Beach.

Stansbury has a few snook, garfish and whiting for boat anglers but the jetty is very quiet.
