SEA Landing in the Santa Barbara Harbor. 805-963-3564. The Stardust is the best 1/2 day boat around IMO. Very well kept boat and crew and they always put us on the fish.

Hope this helps.

It's been quite down here.
I'll let the "opening day" crowd chase them
before I get out.
Rain is on the charts for this weekend.
I might get out for some bottom fishing while listening for the "radio fish"

Lets see if we can get rid of those darn pictures--- tired of scrolling back and forth to read the messages.

Trout in Rose Valley lakes!! I caught 15 trout in an hour, one of which was a 3 pounder 18" long! I have to admit, this was one of the more rewarding trips I have recently had and all it cost me was gas to drive up the 33. I caught all my fish on a 1/4 oz. blue and silver kastmaster spoon.

Decided to make the run up north from Sherman Oaks to fish the beautiful Albert's Anchorage area of Santa Cruz Island for the sometimes elusive but always tenacious pulling Yellowtail Jack.

Fished aboard my 2300 Seaswirl Striper "Big Drum" with my good friend Jim and his neighbor Josh. Jim had never been fishing on the Pacific Ocean and refused to take any king of motion sickness because he was certain he wouldn't get seasick. Unfortunately, my continuous suggestions to take some kind of motion sickness medication fell upon deaf ears. Wouldn't you know it, within a half an hour of setting the pick, poor Jim began to violently up-chuck and created quite the chum slick. I told you so Jim. LOL!!

Oh well, with in a few minute after the chum slick was made, I finally got bit on the right kind. After a couple of minutes of tug o' war I finally get some blood on the deck. Here I am with a healthy 24.5 pound Yellowtail.

After we stowed away the YT on a bed of ice, Jim begged us to take him ashore onto solid ground while Josh and I fished for the rest of the morning. I took him to Coches Prietos Anchorage and scoped out the surf zone and serge. I then backed the boat within 10 yards of the beach and told Jim I wasn't going any further. Jim was just about to jump in about 4 feet of water when I told him "forget it " I'm taking you back go the launch ramp. I'm sure he would've felt much better freezing in wet clothes than being seasick. Made it back to the dock at 10:30am Oh well, eventhough we had to cut the day short, I still had an awesome day on the big pond. There is always tomorrow. HOOK-UP!!

Another fish from that productive drift. Dustin hoists the 30# halibut taken by Eric on a what looks like a very light bass stick. Live Skid did the trick on this one. Eric's biggest halibut ever

Scanned some existing photos. Here is Johnny with a nice halibut from Chinese Harbor. We pulled anchor and started a drift in 11 fathoms. We caught 3 halibut: 10#, 30#, and 43#. We were just east of prisoners, and the drift was to the southeast. More to follow. SCHalibut

Greetings from Santa Cruz Island. Is there anything more sweet than filling the tank with live "skid" and banging some Yellows? It can happen. One Yellowtail per every 5 jumbo rays. A good ratio. We got 9 Yellows from 23 to 30 pounds in 4 hours. Not exactly wide, but steady. Some short seabass as well. Fishing a high spot in 19 fathoms. Some pics for you. It's on!
