Reprint from Bayside Marine:
CHECK OUR HOT LINE FOR CURRENT INFO!! 831-464-3474
April 8
The bite for Salmon died off up the coast near Ano Nuevo with anglers catching a few. The better bite was around Moss Landing at 36'48/121'51 near the edge of the canyon. The bite straight out was slower with only a few fish landed in that area. The water was nice on the way back from Moss Landing when the anglers came back with limits at 10:30 am. The fish are still being caught 65-100 feet down on the troll. The best lures were Blue Hoochies, Oil Can Apexes, Green Krippled Anchovies, Gold Krocodiles, and Glow R.S.K.'s. The wind is expected to be the same or a little less this weekend so come enjoy the action. The fish were a little bigger today with a average of 10-17 pound fish coming in.

Taken from Bayside Marine:
April 3 "OPENING DAY"
The first day of Salmon has started good with some of the anglers coming in with limits as early as 8:00am. The fish were hitting trolled lures in 250-300 feet of water down 50-100 feet. The top lures have been Krippled Anchovies, Krippled Herrings, Chrome Apexes, R.S.K.'s and Blue Hoochies. The bite was good near Moss Landing and in the East side of the Soquel Hole. I am still gathering reports so I will update this again later today! The water was flat calm with a small swell and no wind. The weather pattern is expected to hold for the next week.
The final reports came in and most of the anglers caught about a fish a rod if not more. There were some solid reports from 36'47/121'50, 36'45/121'52, 36'42/121'51, and 36'51/121'57. The anglers who were fishing the East side of the Hole did better then anglers who were straight out. The early bite was the key today due to the full moon. The few anglers who headed up the coast near Davenport did not find many fish. The water was nice for most of the day but there was some afternoon wind. The fish were caught in the deep edges of the Canyons down 55-145 feet on the troll. The mooch bite was slow today with reports of one fish a boat at best. The best bet is to troll until you find a bait ball and work that area. The wind is expected to be calm again in the morning. Don't forget about Daylight Savings. We will be open at 5:00 am

I'm looking for URL's to local (Monterey/Santa Cruz) websites and or phone numbers that have daily albacore reports including catch #'s and location of fish.

You can launch at the municipal harbor or at Breakwater Cove, out by the Coast Guard jetty. Weather permitting, tuna fishing has been excellent to fair, from straight out 20 miles to west of the Monterey Bay weather buoy, 30 to 40 miles. Check Bayside Marine's website (Santa Cruz) for the latest update. Martin Kohlbry on the 35 Bertram Fishtales, at Breakwater cove.

Hi all I haven't been to the Monterey area since the 1970's and was wondering where you can launch. Also I would like to know if the albacore fishing is still going strong. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Bill

Subject: MONTEREY BAY SALMON FISHING

MONTEREY BAY SALMON FISHING IS HAVING A FAIRLY GOOD FIRST MONTH.. MOSTLY EASY LIMITS EVERY 4 OUT OF 5 TRIPS OUT.. TROLLING WORKS BEST FOR ME WITH ANCHOVIES AND HOOCHIES.. BEWARE OF THE COMMERCIAL BOATS AND THE SEA LIONS.
