Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Yellowfin whiting were caught from the shore at Myponga, while hot weekend weather helped prolong the run of garfish and squid at Rapid Bay,

Parsons Beach holds mullet and salmon, while Port Elliot has tommies from the jetty and salmon along the breakwater.

Hindmarsh Island visitors caught salmon trout in Scab Island.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

On Sunday, one boat returned to the ramp at Wirrina with a catch of snook, while others snared garfish up to boat limits along with squid. Keen night anglers are pulling a few snapper north of the ramp.

Mullet are still biting at Waitpinga near the creek entrance, while Fishery Beach at Cape Jervis has tommies and squid. Sweep have been biting from the rocks at Kings Beach, and wading anglers are catching garfish in front of Franklin Parade, Victor Harbor.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Rapid Bay jetty anglers enjoyed garfish, squid, tommies, trevally and salmon trout on Sunday. There were salmon trout at Morgans Beach and mullet at Waitpinga.

Victor Harbor visitors found squid at night from the causeway, garfish deep at the workman's jetty, and mullet around the turn of the tide near the yacht club.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Late last week, there were whiting boated a kilometre out from Normanville jetty, while others were caught at nearby Lady Bay.

A school of salmon at Petrel Cove stayed beyond casting range most of the time, while Hindmarsh River produced bream near the railway bridge and at the walkway further upstream.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Strong wind kept weekenders away from Rapid Bay jetty, where garfish squid, tommies and mackerel are still the main catch on better days.

Victor Harbor anglers caught salmon and tommies from the rocks at Kings Beach, salmon trout at the eastern end of Petrel Cove and bream and mullet inside the mouth of Hindmarsh River. Salmon trout were also caught on lures near the railway bridge at Watson's Gap.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Garfish are still the main catch at Rapid Bay jetty along with tommies and squid, and some mullet were caught in the shallows. Mullet were also biting near the creek mouth at Waitpinga, while salmon trout were taking lures at Watsons Gap.

No 19 beacon at Goolway has salmon trout and occasional school mulloway.

On calmer days Wirrina remains a reliable venue for garfish, tommies, squid and snook.

Garfish, squid and tommies are the main catch at Rapid Bay jetty.

Mullet were caught near the yacht club at Victor Harbor, and there were salmon trout late at night from the screwpile jetty.

No 19 beacon at Goolwa provided salmon trout and mulloway. Remember the legal size of 46cm for mulloway.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Wirrina attracted many boat crews on Saturday, turning on large tommies, garfish, mackerel, snook, barracouta and squid. Nearby Rapid Bay jetty was reliable for squid, garfish, tommies and mackerel.

Victor Harbor provided large tommies in Petrel Cove, squid and garfish from workman's jetty on Granite Island, and some big flathead for boat anglers fishing near Wright Island. Salmon trout were biting in the deep gutter in front of the Port Elliot caravan park.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Friday at Wirrina yielded snook, garfish, squid and big tommies in good numbers.

Jetty anglers should try early and late in the day for garfish, tommies and squid at Second Valley.

Rapid Bay offers its usual summer mixture of garfish, squid, tommies, mackerel and occasional trevally.

Parsons Beach turned on salmon to 1.5kg from late afternoon to early evening, while salmon trout were taking lures from the Granite Island breakwater.

Other Victor Harbor news included bream in Hindmarsh River near the railway bridge, salmon trout and mullet near the yacht club, tommies and garfish along Franklin Parade, and a few snapper on the inner and outer reefs.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Our Wirrina snook were caught on drifting baits of whole small pilchards and garfish fillets. Squid were scarce but there was plenty of big garfish and chunky tommies.

Rapid Bay jetty continues to provide tommies, garfish, squid and mackerel, with only occasional trevally.

Victor Harbor has plenty of salmon trout in Petrel Cove, and there are a few squid and salmon trout at The Bluff.

There are a lot of undersize school mulloway along Goolwa Beach, while early morning anglers are catching good hauls of salmon trout in Mundoo Channel.

Brenton Irving battled the breeze at Wirrina on Thursday, catching garfish, large mackerel and big tommies.

Rapid Bay jetty is yielding garfish, squid, tommies, mackerel and trevally.

Garfish were quieter at Granite Island's screwpile jetty but salmon trout are biting at night.

Hindmarsh River has bream taking peeled prawns near the railway bridge.

Rapid Bay jetty provided squid and garfish, while large tommies were caught from the rocks at Fishery Beach.

One crew took a good haul of tommies from a small boat anchored just out from Kent Reserve at Victor Harbor, while Sugars Beach on Hindmarsh Island yielded mullet and salmon trout.

There were tommies in Petrel Cove at Victor Harbor, and tommies and salmon trout at Knights Beach, just west of Port Elliot.

There have been plenty of salmon trout inside the Murray mouth, but many are just below the legal size of 21cm.

Nearby Sugars Beach has provided mullet and a few large bream.

Wirrina has produced plenty of squid lately and on Saturday, boats returned to the ramp with good catches of whiting taken on grounds between Second Valley and Rapid Bay.

Rapid Bay jetty offers tommies, squid and a few garfish.

There are mullet at the western end of Waitpinga beach, a few squid at The Bluff, and still reasonable numbers of tommies from the Granite Island causeway.

Calmer days last week had mullet and sweep caught from the rocks at Myponga, while one angler caught 59 tommies in a night session at Cape Jervis jetty.

Victor Harbor had tommies from the causeway and squid from the workman's jetty on Granite Island.

There were salmon trout at Petrel Cove, Watsons Gap and Chiton Rocks.

There have been squid at The Bluff at Victor Harbor, and Des Thomson caught two dozen tommies from the Granite Island causeway on Monday.

Mullet and salmon trout can be found in Petrel Cove and Mundoo Channel.

Late last week there were small salmon to a kilogram at the eastern end of Waitpinga, with at least one angler catching his bag limit of 10 fish. Mullet are also available from the beach but many aren't much over legal size.

There are still tommies in Petrel Cove and salmon trout were biting at Port Elliot from the jetty and in front of the bowling club.

Salmon trout and mullet were plentiful at Goolwa's No 19 beacon.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

Brenton Irving Greg Barratt and I fished in rough seas at Wirrina on Sunday for a hard-earned catch of 15 large whiting and a few squid. The fish were biting best both sides of the low tide.

Victor Harbor anglers found salmon trout at Petrel Cove and some small squid at night from the causeway.

There were salmon trout and bream at Goolwa's No 19 beacon and school mulloway in Mundoo Channel.

There was hardly a visitor sighted at Rapid Bay where the jetty should be producing tommies in present conditions.

There were isolated reports of salmon trout and at least one big salmon at Waitpinga and a salmon school was spotted at Victor Harbor, between Petrel Cove and West Island.

Wirrina's weekend launchers worked hard for a feed of garfish, snook, whiting and squid.

Nearby Rapid Bay jetty held tommies and a sprinkling of garfish and squid.

School mulloway were caught from Goolwa Beach, mullet were inside the Murray mouth and there was a good haul of flounder taken at Sugars Beach.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

One boat crew caught snook on the Banks at Wirrina before the weekend, while Rapid Bay jetty yielded squid, tommies and garfish when the wind backed off on Monday morning.

There were salmon at Waitpinga on Friday and Saturday, but mainly mullet on Sunday.

Boat anglers in the bay at Victor are running hot and cold with garfish and tommy catches from day to day, while Des Thomson caught 16 garfish from the causeway. Salmon trout were biting from the eastern rocks in Petrel Cove, and school mulloway can be found at Watsons Gap.

One angler caught squid and garfish from the rocks at Pyponga, while mullet and salmon were biting at Morgans Beach.

Mullet can be found near the creek at Waitpinga. There are tommies in Petrel Cove and salmon likely at Goolwa beach.

Garfish were plentiful at Wirrina but weren't always in the mood to bite. Other catches included a few squid and snook, with night anglers boating snapper to more than 11kg.

Tommies, squid and garfish were biting at Rapid Bay jetty, with mullet caught along the beach.

There were salmon trout in Horshoe Bay at Port Elliot, and mullet at the No 19 beacon landing at Goolwa. Bream and mullet were caught around dusk in Mundoo Channel.

Subject: Fishing Report - Victor Harbor and South Coast

There were some big catches of large garfish taken at Wirrina before the weather change on Monday and Rapid Bay jetty had mainly garfish last week before tommies moved in on the weekend.

The outer reefs at Victor Harbor yielded three rugger snapper to a local angler and salmon trout were biting near the yacht club.

Goolwa Beach provided school mulloway and salmon trout, with bream and flounder in Scab Channel at Hindmarsh Island
