Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Port Pirie crabbers are raving about the size and numbers of blueys currently available. Yellowfin whiting can be found around the creek mouths, with some nice flathead also caught at Fourth Creek. snapper and several yellowtail kingfish were boated on undisclosed local grounds.
The Ballast ground at Wallaroo came to life, with good catches at the weekend. The jetty holds tommies and very big slimy mackerel, while snapper to 55cm and squid were taken from the rocks north of Point Riley.
A club competition at Port Hughes saw snapper caught near Tippara Light, and snook and whiting boated north-west of the light.
Point Turton has a few whiting in the bay, and boat limit catches were taken by those who ventured further afield to The Banks. The jetty provided garfish, tommies and squid.

Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Port Augusta is crawling with blue crabs, good catches coming from the shacks area right up to the old bridge. There are rugger snapper and small kingfish near the power station, and more kingfish around the town wharf.
Slow weekend tides didn't help anglers at Wallaroo, where garfish and blue crabs were the main catch. Some reasonable whiting hauls came from the Ballast Ground, while the jetty turned on tommies.
Boat crews at Port Rickaby have been catching whiting by day and snapper from dusk, while garfish and squid have been consistent for jetty triers.
Paul Hanna and his charter crew caught eight legal snapper and plenty of small ones out from Pondalowie Bay, where mullet can be found near the boat ramp and snook around the moorings.
Other mullet news came from Gleesons Landing, while salmon were best at West Cape, Shell Beach and Salmon Beach.
Stansbury has a few snook, garfish and whiting for boat anglers but the jetty is very quiet.

Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Garfish, blue crabs and yellowfin whiting can be found inshore at Port Pirie and Port Broughton. There are a few whiting on the Boiler ground, kingfish at the end of the jetty, and garfish, snook and occasional legal snapper for rock anglers at Point Riley
Port Hughes has kingfish at the jetty and whiting in the Steamer Channel.
There are garfish, squid and tommies for jetty anglers at Port Victoria, whiting inside and outside the Wardang Island, and one crew boated its limit of snapper at first light about 20km offshore.
Pondalowie Bay has been a reliable source of salmon, salmon trout, snook, whiting and a few mullet, while Stenhouse Bay jetty provided squid and a few snapper.
Salmon were biting at Butlers Beach on Saturday, and another group caught snook and squid in Treasure Cove.
Port Vincent has mainly tommies and garfish for boat anglers, with a few whiting offshore on the 8-mile grounds.

Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Port Augusta has blue crabs widespread, as far upstream as the old bridge. Yellowfin whiting have also arrived in the town's shallows, at the power station and near the shacks.
Weekend boating was a windy non-event at Wallaroo, where the jetty provided blueys, mackerel, garfish, tommies and some anxious moments with yellowtail kingfish.
Port Hughes jetty has plenty of squid and a few garfish and blueys.
Point Turton launchers had to stick close to shore but found heaps of garfish near Point Souttar, where shore casters are also catching them. The jetty is best fished early and late in the day for squid, garfish, large salmon trout and a few kingfish.
Southeasterlies have hampered anglers on the peninsula's eastern side, although Mike Clark scored a bag limit of whiting, plus tommies and mackerel, near Troubridge Island last Wednesday.
There are blue crabs and snapper in deeper water at Price, where other catches included tommies and plenty of garfish.

Wallaroo jetty continues to provide good catches of blue crabs. Most fish are coming from the outer half of the jetty, mainly tommies, garfish and mackerel at present.
Boat crews couldn't venture out to whiting and snapper grounds due to the wind, settling instead for good inshore catches of garfish and blueys.
Point Turton's jetty anglers braved the elements for a few garfish and squid.
Stenhouse Bay jetty yielded lots of tommies and a surprise catch of an 8.2kg snapper for one lucky visitor.
There are snook and salmon in Pondalowie Bay and more salmon in Dolphin Bay.

Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Yellowtail kingfish are still visiting the end of Wallaroo jetty, attracted by schools of garfish and mackerel. Tommies are biting there after dark and blue crab catches have been good.
Boat anglers found plenty of garfish and blueys in the bay, with whiting best on the ballast ground and just-legal snapper on the tyre reef before dawn.
Snook are schooling near the end of the breakwaters. There are yellowfin whiting from the shore between Black Rock and Tickera.
Experienced boat anglers have caught whiting to bag limits at Point Turton, and plenty of garfish by dabbing on calm nights.
Boat catches were up and down at Stansbury, some returning with garfish, tommies and bag limits of whiting, while others had to battle for a feed. The jetty offers a few garfish and tommies.

Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Blue crabs are imporving at Port Augusta, from the old bridge down to the shacks. There are rugger snapper on most grounds but watch the sizes, and a few yellowfin whiting in the shallows.
Wallaroo has whiting from the Magazine Ground to Bird Island, and some 6kg to 8kg snapper are coming pre-dawn from the tyre reef.
Rock and boat anglers caught snook and squid at Point riley. Jetty anlgers found garfish, mackerel and small bronze whalers at Moonta, and plenty of garfish at Port Rickaby.
Browns Beach had only tommies and salmon trout, but there were larger salon at Shell Beach and West Cape.
Boats working around Pondalowie Bay moorings returned with snook and tommies. One 3.7kg salmon was taken at Salmon Beach, while a number of schools remained visible but beyond casting range.
There are good numbers of snook and some large whiting in Wattle Bay, squid at Coobowie and nice garfish at Edithburgh jetty.

Windy conditions kept most boat anglers ashore at Port Pirie, where the only news was of increased numbers of blue crabs.
Wallaroo has garfish, squid, mackerel and blueys from the jetty, with a few legal snapper caught there on Saturday and Monday.
Boat crews struggled to find whiting and snapper, but there were garfish and tommies, and a few nice flathead were caught from the breakwaters.
Port Hughes has plenty of whiting south of Cape Elizabeth and some snapper well out in the Steamer Channel.
Whiting were also active at Point Turton, where garfish dabbers fared well on Saturday night. The jetty has tommies, squid and a few garfish.
There are tommies and squid at Stenhouse Bay jetty, and snapper around Althorpe Island when boats can get there.
There were big sweep at Hillocks Point, snook at dawn at Treasure Cove and a few salmon from the beaches.
Boat anglers at Port Vincent found garfish, snook and tommies, with some nice flathead near the reef in front of the golf course.

Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Whiting are scattered at Wallaroo. There was no news of snapper but bay anglers boated garfish, snook, squid and blue crabs. The jetty offered garfish, blueys, yellowfin whiting and occasional visits by schools of salmon and yellowtail kingfish. Salmon were also caught from the marina breakwaters, with garfish, tommies, mullet and bream inside the marina.
There were excellent snapper catches by charter boat crews fishing well out at Port Hughes. Other boats ventured south of Cape Elizabeth for good catches of whiting and mackerel.
Port Victoria had whiting around Green and Goose islands, with a few squid and garfish at the jetty.
Pondalowie Bay held salmon, snook and tommies.
Browns Beach had large tommies and salmon were again caught in the cornere at West Cape.
Boats returned from Althorpe Island with good catches of snapper and nannygai. Trevally were reported near the Troubridge Point cliffs, slimy mackerel on the Clan Ranald wreck, snapper at Port Moorowie and Troubridge Hill, and medium snook on Troubridge Shoal.
Tommies were active at Wool Bay jetty.
Mulloway has been tantalising anglers at Ardrossan jetty. Only a few have been tempted to take bait, fresh squid heads with ink sacks attached being the most successful. The jetty also holds, tommies, garfish and yellowfin whiting. Boat anglers found tommies and garfish.

There are some big yellowtail kingfish at the end of Wallaroo jetty, probably attracted by the ample supply of garfish there. One was landed, while others were hooked but broke off around the jetty pylons
Blue crabs can be found half way out along the jetty, and local beaches both sides of the town are yielding yellowfin whiting and flathead.
Boat anglers in the bay caught garfish, snook and blueys, and some larger snapper are coming from the Steamer Channel at Port Hughes. Some bag limit whiting catches were boated at Port Rickaby, and there were garfish and tommies at the jetty.
Big tommies are biting well aroud the bottom of the peninsula for shore and jetty anglers, and there are squid at Stenhouse Bay and Marion Bay jetties.
Charter crews boated nannygai, snapper and blue morwong out from Pondalowie Bay.
At Hillocks Drive, snook were caught in Treasure Cove and there were small salmon to 750g at Butlers Beach and Salmon Beach.
Stansbury had whiting up to bag limits south of the spit, plenty of big garfish in the bay, few squid and no blue crabs yet. Tommies were the main catch from the jetty.

Blue crabs are active near the shacks and at the old bridge at Port Augusta.
Small yellowtail kingfish to legal size are in front of the power station and sprat tommies are everywhere.
Wallaroo has plenty of salmon at Bird Island, with whiting best at Cape Misery and the Boiler ground.
Shore anglers found blueys, tommies and a few gar at the jetty, squid at Point Riley and mullet, salmon trout, tommies and yellowfin whiting in the marina.
Elsewhere, jetty anglers caught tommies and snook at Port Hughes, and tommies and squid at Point Turton.
Salmon reports came from Daly Head, Browns Beach and on Friday from Hillocks Drive, with big tommies, squid and snook at Stenhouse Bay jetty.
Limited news from jetties on the eastern side included tommies at Edithburgh, squid at Port Giles, and tommies and blue crabs at Stansbury.

There was no weekend boating news from Wallaroo, where hardy shore anglers found tommies in the marina and some blue crabs from the jetty.
Before the weekend, Moonta jetty had produced squid, tommies at night, with a few snook just starting to make an appearance.
Big tommies are well spread around the bottom of the peninsula for shore and jetty anglers.
Salmon reports have come from Browns Beach, Pondalowie Bay and Hillocks Drive.
Limited boating activity at Marion Bay saw encouraging numbers of snook caught, while a bag limit of large whiting was taken out from Hillocks Point.
The only other peninsula whiting news was of inshore catches at Port Rickaby, Hardwicke Bay and Stansbury.
Jetty anglers found tommies and squid late afternoon at Edithburgh, squid but no tommies at Port Giles and Wool Bay, and squid and tommies at night at Stansbury.

Apart from the snapper boated at Port Broughton, jetty anglers have caught salmon by day and reasonable numbers of tommies at night.
Wallaroo's snapper seekers had to travel 30km to the Middle Bank grounds for best results.
Closer to shore, a few blue crabs were netted on deeper grounds, salmon were active around Bird Island and snook were busy in the bay as temperatures rose.
The jetty and marina wharf provided tommies at night, with snook also visiting the jetty on Sunday night.
Port Victoria proved to be a weekend hot spot, with one crew catching 39 big whiting on Saturday morning and others boating bag limits on Sunday near Balgowan. Snapper bag limits were also taken offshore, and the jetty provided plenty of squid.
Dolphin Bay, Pondalowie Bay and Browns Beach all turned on a few salmon, with big tommies well spread around the tip of the peninsula.
Hillocks Drive visitors found tommies at Gartrells Rocks and Butlers Beach, and a few small salmon on Butlers.
Marion Bay provided big whiting offshore when seas calmed on the weekend.
Ardrossan jetty anglers had to work for a feed of squid, whiting and blue crabs, while weekenders at Price boated whiting, garfish, mullet and squid.

Port Augusta still has plenty of blue crabs on deeper grounds, and squid were plentiful near the shacks. Whiting were best south of the shacks, where the slimy weed problem is nowhere near as bad as in the town. At least three yellowtail kingfish, from 15kg-20kg. have been caught recently near the power station.
Salmon and snook were landed from the rocks at Point Riley, while Wallaroo jetty has mainly small tommies and a few good mullet at first light from the swimming pool spur.
Boat anglers found salmon at Bird Island and whiting up to bag limits at Port Misery and inshore at Moonta Bay.
An angling club tackled the lower peninsula waters for salmon trout, salmon and large tommies at Dolphin Bay, Pondalowie Bay and West Cape, with squid at Stenhouse Bay and Marion Bay jetties.

Charter boat crews took advantage of good snapper fishing at Port Broughton ahead of the seasonal ban.
Whiting have been scarce, but the jetty continues to provide some nice salmon near the pontoon.
Wallaroo provided whiting in the bay, best on southern grounds, while salmon were boated at Bird Island. There are tommies and squid at the jetty, and salmon trout, mullet and yellowfin whiting in the marina.
A few whiting were boated close in at Port Victoria, where the jetty yielded squid.
Whiting bag limits were taken well out at Point Turton, and one boat returned with 35 whoppers at Marion Bay.
Salmon were plentiful in Pondalowie Bay, and catches have improved at Browns Beach.
Jetty anglers caught squid and tommies at Stenhouse Bay and Edithburgh, with a few bonus whiting at Edithburgh.
Stansbury was very quiet, while one angler caught tommies and mullet from Port Vincent wharf on Sunday morning.

Apart from blue crabs at Port Augusta, the shacks area is also producing a few squid and there are salmon in the Port Paterson area.
Wallaroo boaties grabbed limited weather breaks to catch whiting on the bar ground and salmon at Bird Island. There are mainly tommies at the jetty, with mullet, salmon trout, tommies and yellowfin whiting sheltering in the marina.
Point Turton jetty anglers have enjoyed occasional runs of salmon to 1.5kg and even the odd garfish. Mullet were caught in the shallows near the boat ramp.
Fishing club members scored salmon to a kilogram at Pondalowie Bay, and Browns Beach is also producing a few fish on the rougher days.
Tommies can be caught from rocks and beaches around the tip of the peninsula when seas are calm, also at Stenhouse Bay jetty.
There are squid at Marion Bay and Edithburgh jetties.

Two young lads fishing from the pontoon at the end of Port Broughton jetty on Thursday night, catching several salmon in a short but successful session.
Boating activity was restricted due to the weather, although a local charter operator has done well lately with snapper of mixed sizes.
At Wallaroo, boats bumped over lumpy seas to tangle with salmon at Bird Island. Whiting were patchy in the bay, best catches coming from northern grounds between Point Riley and Peggy's.
Land-based anglers caught tommies late afternoons from the jetty, yellowfin whiting, mullet and bream in the marina, salmon from the breakwaters, and squid from the rocks at Point Riley.
A few whiting were boated at Point Turton on Saturday, while the jetty offers mainly tommies and the occasional squid. Big swells around the bottom end on the weekend forced anglers to shelter in the corner of Pondalowie Bay, fishing for mullet, salmon trout and tommies.
Calmer conditions saw tommies taken from the rocks at Chinamans and one boat returned with 17 big whiting at Marion Bay.
Whiting have been patchy at Edithburgh, while the only news from Port Vincent was of tommies from the wharf.

Subject: Fishing Report - Yorke Peninsula
Port Augusta launchers found whiting on Douglas Bank, while squid were taking lures near the shacks.
There were no boats out at Wallaroo, but tommies kept jetty anglers entertained and there were mullet caught from the swimming pool jetty.
A number of anglers sought shelter in the marina, where mullet, salmon trout and a few bream were landed. Snapper to legal size have been caught from the seaward end of the breakwaters.
Anglers and plenty of salmon trout were tucked into the corner of Pondalowie Bay, seeking respite from the strong westerly winds.
Browns Beach yielded big tommies but only a few salmon, while tommies were also biting at Stenhouse Bay jetty.
Hillocks Drive closes for two months from next Tuesday, so this is the last weekend available for those wishing to fish the farm's shoreline.
Boats stayed close to shore at Stansbury, where a few squid were caught in front of the caravan park.
Port Vincent wharf is worth trying for dusk tommies during winter, while the creek at Price will provide mullet and salmon trout.

Depending on location in relation to the wind, some areas provided good caches, while others were a non-event.
Whiting, snook and blue crabs were all caught near the shacks at Port Augusta, and the cold snap seems to have discouraged the local trumpeter population. Yellowfin whiting can be found along the shallows and mangroves.
Boat anglers caught whiting at Wallaroo on Friday, but rough weather then restricted weekenders to tommies from the jetty and mullet, salmon trout and bream in the marina.
Others sheltered at Port Hughes boat ramp, where mullet provided some welcome action.
Point Turton jetty was reasonably protected, yielding tommies, squid and snook.
Salmon were best in the corner at Pondalowie Bay, with tommies and the odd salmon at Dolphin Bay.
Stenhouse Bay and Marion Bay jetties both held squid and tommies before the weekend, while mullet anglers found a few fish at Chinamans and at the western end of Marion Bay.
A fish club braved the weather until midnight on Saturday at Ardrossan jetty, catching tommies, garfish and one legal mulloway. Anglers also reported hooking a lot of blue crabs on their fishing lines.
Price provided shelter from the wind in Wills Creek, where large mullet and salmon trout entertained those keen enough to try.

Wallaroo jetty is yielding tommies day and night, with legal snapper taken from the end between 8am and 9am on past mornings.
Boat anglers caught snapper at night on most recognised grounds and some were taken from the rocks north of Point Riley. Whiting were scattered, with best reports coming from the Outer Ballast ground.
Point Turton has squid from the jetty and tommies there at night. Mullet schools are working their way around from Point Souttar and boats venturing well out returned with fair catches of whiting. Some good salmon to more than 3kg were landed at West Cape on Saturday.
Browns Beach had smaller fish at the far end of the lagoon, while Salmon Beach at Hillocks Drive produced salmon, tommies and big mullet.
Stansbury has plenty of mullet in front of the caravan park, a few squid and large tommies at the jetty, and modest catches of garfish and whiting for boat anglers. Snapper reports came from Port Clinton and north of Ardrossan.

Subject: Fishing Report - York Peninsula
Port Pirie has whiting near the creeks, small but legal snapper well spread, garfish in Weeroona Bay and still fair numbers of blue crabs on most regular grounds.
Snapper at Wallaroo can be found in the bay just south of Point Riley, also to the north of the point. The Middle, Ballast and Boiler grounds produced whiting, the jetty holds plenty of tommies and there are salmon tout in the marina.
Port Victoria also reported snapper, including some bag limits, about 6km to 8km outside Wardang Island, There are a few snook in the bay and squid at the jetty.
Pondalowie Bay turned on mixed bags of mullet, tommies, salmon trout and a number of bream on Sunday. There were salmon trout, mullet and sweep at Royston Head, and a few salmon and mullet at Browns Beach. Hillocks Drive was quiet before a run of salmon late on Sunday at Salmon Beach.
Edithburgh crews had to work hard for a few snapper on Tapley Shoal and whiting near Coobowie. There are big tommies at the jetty and on Troubridge shoal, and large mullet at nearby Sturt Bay.
Whiting catches have improved a little at Port Vincent, best on the Rock and Second Gulley grounds.

Port Augusta has rugger snapper at the power station and on the tyre reef. Blue crabs are widespread and there are a few whiting south of the power station.
There are tommies, blue crabs, snook and a few salmon at Wallaroo jetty, with whiting on the ballast ground and garfish and blueys behind Bird Island.
There were a couple of good catches of big whiting boated well out at Point Turton, and two nice snapper about 7kg were caught in Hardwicke Bay on Sunday. Point Turton jetty offers tommies, garfish and squid, with salmon to 1.5kg roaming between the jetty and Magazine Bay. Browns Beach yielded a few salmon of similar size.
Price has plenty of crabs but many are undersize. One angler caught his bag limit of whiting on Sunday morning.

Wallaroo jetty holds plenty of tommies at first light, while other catches there and at Bird Island included garfish, blue crabs and snook. Night anglers caught small salmon to 1kg from the marina breakwaters.
Port Victoria's boat crews returned with snook and snapper but whiting were scarce.

A large white pointer shark provided a thrill for Edithburgh Charters customers near Troubridge Point on Sunday, stealing two large snapper from their lines after they had boated four others to 9kg.
Ardrossan jetty anglers caught squid, blue crabs and yellowfin whiting.

Deep diving Halco RMG Scorpion lures, originally intended for yellowtail kingfish, have instead been picking up some nice snapper near the Port Augusta power station. Snapper are biting on other grounds further south, while small kingfish to 80cm can be found as far upstream as the Railway Bridge.
Wallaroo has tommies, snook and just legal snapper at the end of the jetty and blue crabs and squid in the shallows. Bag limits of whiting came from the Ballast ground with salmon, garfish and blueys at Bird Island.
Jetty anglers caught garfish, squid and tommies at Port Rickaby and garfish and tommies and mackerel at Point Turton.
Mullet are improving on most beaches within the Innes National Park and at nearby Marion Bay and Hillocks Drive.
Jetty anglers found tommies at Stenhouse Bay and garfish at Marion Bay.
Edithburgh has snapper and whiting on Tapley Shoal and nice salmon trout to 500gm at Sultana Point.
Whiting were hit and miss at Stansbury, with some crews returning with good hauls while others came back fishless. Garfish are plentiful in the bay, tommies are at the jetty early mornings and a few mullet are starting to show from the beach along Oyster Drive.

Snapper are still biting offshore at Port Broughton, with garfish, salmon trout, blue crabs and plenty of trumpeters inshore.
Wallaroo has blue crabs at the jetty in the bay, at Bird Island and at Tickera. Garfish and snook were also boated in the bay but yellowfin kingfish have kept garfish away from the jetty, which has tommies and snook early and late in the day. The marina provided bream and salmon trout.
Port Victoria has plenty of whiting and some large snook inside Wardang Island, with tommies, garfish and squid at the jetty.
Two large samson fish were boated not far out from Pondalowie Bay by a local angler, and the bay holds salmon and mullet for shore anglers.
Mullet were also caught at Dolphin Bay and Penguin Point at Marion Bay where one boat crew caught their limit of whiting out from Hillocks Point.
