The fishing has been fantastic. The rigs have been paying off. Limits of trout by 10 am are common. The fish have been suspended. The best bait has been Glow cocohaos and Purple/Chart cocohaos with 3/8 jig head. When it is calm they will hit topwater and suspending baits. There have been a few ling at the short rigs. The biggest caught was 50+ lbs. The birds are working in the lake. Lots of ladyfish underneath them, but there are some nice trout and reds mixed in there. 4"Gulp Shrimp in white has taken most of the fish with a few hitting topwater. The next few weeks are shaping up to be great. The offshore fishing is starting to heat up with the ling moving closer in this time of year. TripleTail have been hit or miss this year. The best bite has been around 15 miles out under the weed patches. To book a trip please give me a call at 409-719-7166. Or check out my website at www.sabineoutdoors.com

Summer time is here and the temp is getting hot along with the fishing. The jetties have been hit and miss. One day the wind is blowing strong and the water is green/clear but it is rough. The next day the wind isn't blowing and the water is calm but dirty. If you are lucky enough to hit the right day the fishing has been fantastic. The best bait has been glow/chart bass assassin in 5" with a 3/8 jig head bounced off the bottom. There has been a pretty good bite in the ship channel. Fishing over shell in 5-7 feet of water has produced some nice catches. The Berkely Gulp swim minnow in white has been the best color. The party I had for friday had 24 trout to 5 pounds. Had a party out Saturday that had 15 trout to 4 pounds and 13 flounder 4 1/2 pounds. The birds are still working in the lake with some nice fish coming off topwater. There are alot of gafftop and lady fish mixed in with the school trout. The bigger fish are on the outside of the flocks of birds. The water in the gulf is heating up and the tripletail are starting to move in. If you would like to book a trip please give me a call or visit my website at www.sabineoutdoors.com

The birds have been working in the lake when the wind lays down. The best action has been between Blue Buck Point and Greens Bayou. The bite has been good early thru mid morining and the cranks back up mid afternoon til dark. The water in the lake looks good and the fish are healthy. Most of the fish under the birds and small but there are some really nice fish mixed in with them. The best bait has been Berkley Gulp swim minnow in glow color. The jetties have been hit and miss due to the wind. I had a party that limited out at the jetties and in the surf one day and then the next the Trout were few and far between. We should be getting into our summer pattern here in the next two weeks. The Reds have been the one strong hold at the jetties with four man limits no problem. The best Flounder bite has been on an outgoing tide in the mouths of cuts that drian the marsh. Keith Lake has been good for catching lots of undersized Trout and Reds. If you put in the time you can scratch out some keepers. The best bits has been on an incoming tide with glow/chart cocahoe. The ship channel bite is starting to shape up as well. The fish are starting to feed on the school of shad in the channel. Live bait has been the best bet on an incoming tide. Fishing has been the best along the point in the ship channel. Fishing is still pretty fair. A lot of small fish in the lake but have been able to locate some pretty good keepers. The fish are in a transition period and bite good one day and spotty the next. Waiting for the lake to explode real soon. Fishing is going to be outstanding in the next few weeks. Booking up fast for the fall run. www.coastaloutfittersguideservice.com, Capt. Steve

What a week we had last week!! We had limits every day last week at the Sabine Jetty's. We also caught plenty of fish offshore. The heat is really intense right now and we have been getting out extra early and calling it when it gets too hot to stand it. I can definitly say there are some good trout to be had right now. So if you want to get yours! Call Capt. Steve Davis 409 460-1220 or check coastaloutfittersguideservice.com to book a trip. Thanks for checking out the report and lets go fishing

The fish have really showed up at the jetties. The wind has been laying in the morining allowing for some great fishing til late in the afternoon. The key is to fish the tides. The beach has also been hot early in the morining. Topwater seems to been the best bait in the surf. The best color has been Glow She Dogs. Once the bite in the surf slow you have a couple of options. You can fish the short rigs or go to the jetties. The short rigs has been hit or miss, but when its right its outstanding. Trout, TripleTail, Spanish Mackerel, Jacks, Redfish, Sharks and even Ling. We hooked about a 30lb Ling about 2 miles off the beach, so bring your heavy tackle with you. The best bait has been Glow/Chart bass assassins. Live bait has also been a killer, mullet and croakers beening the best baits. Sunday was near and dear to my heart! I donated three trips to the Gulf Coast Conservation Association. Sunday was the Texas A&M CCA winners. Twin Vee did not design the boat for 6'5" college football players, they kept hitting their heads on the T-top. These guys were great anglers and a fun, fun group to guide. We had our full snapper box by 10:30, landed a full box of Kings, and sport fished for Sharks. Another charter trip where the captain had as much fun as the clients. Whoop! (that's for all the Aggies!!!)

Saturday morning brought 4'seas. About 5 miles out of the Sabine Jetties, I turned to Ernest, who charted an offshore trip for his wife and son..The boat can handle it, the captain can handle it, I was concerned for the wife and son...what troupers they are, they said, let's go...Onward we went, and what a fishing group they were. The son landed a 31 lb Red Snapper, dad landed two ling, one 76 lbs and the other 52 lbs. and one nice 38 lb black Grouper. We ended up 3 shy of a full snapper box, but worn out from the fights. The seas settled and allowed for a nice ride in. They had so much meat, they let me take a big ole slab of ling home for my family. This is why I charter fish, meet new friends and watch the excitement of my clients pull in big fish that they have never caught before. June is pretty much booked, get online with www.sabineadventures.com and book for July and forward. The fishing is GREAT this year.

The fishing has been unreal. The north end of the lake has been fantastic. Had a party friday and had our limit and back on the trailer at 12 oclock. The bird were working and everyone was catching fish. The best bait we found was a berkely power shrimp in white, with a 1/4 ounce jig head. Also took some soild fish on topwater. Best color was chrome/blue back she dog. Stayed with one school of fish for two hrs. If the birds stop working just hang in the area and wait for the fish to come back up. The fishing should get better and better the later in the month it gets. If you wanna get in on some if this hot action give me a call at 409-719-7166

Friday-05/05- Group of six, full snapper box, 1 closing in on 30 LBS!!! Only 4 under 8lbs, only found 1 ling on the rigs, now he is in the cooler. Great day on the water, blue water @ 38 miles, weedlines forming, should have some mahi shortly. Fishing out of Sabine Pass near Port Arthur is great this year, May is full, June has limited trips still available.

Sunday- 05/07- Saturday's trip was postponed due to severe storms all morning. Did manage to get in 2 trips on Sunday thanks to my friend, Capt. Scott. Both boats had full snapper boxes, only 6 fish over 15 lbs, most keepers were in the 5-10 lb range. Bet both boats landed over 300 fish, lots of legal, but 16-20" fish today, if you like landing offshore snapper...we were getting sore! But, the good part.. Lots of ling in the area today, had 4 over 50 lbs, 3 over 30 lbs and a couple that were Texas legal...they eat well though. All in all we had around 400 lbs of fish on Sunday. Two great trips out of Sabine Pass near Port Arthur Texas for great offshore, saltwater fishing. Come on..Let's go fishin.
