I am looking for a Scott Fawcett who last I knew was living in the Homer area working on a fishing vessel. He would be around 45-48 years old. He is my cousin and I would like to visit with him we are thinking of visiting sometime next summer. Thanks Carol |

Subject: Homer, Alaska Halibut fishing
The first trip of the season was May 25,a late start this year. Seas were twos and threes, confused, SW 10Knts. 24ft of water moving. 3/4 crew not feeling good. Could not get to were I wanted to go. Plan B - Pams spot - 23 miles out, 120ft, 2miles north of Whale Bite. Morning anchor time, got some fish on the out going but current slowed, turned and catching died. Don't like it when that happens. Picked up and ran to the North kelp. Nice Wx,42ft, everybody feeling good, one bite, one butt, nice one 45lb. Picked up, ran to the Dimple to finsh off, 110ft, 15miles out. Anchor, condition comfortable, wind and cuttent same direction. We got them. Long day. May 26, WX beautiful, flat calm, to the Variety Hole, 25miles out, 190ft. Short 1/2 drift, anchor time. Did good - couple of 50lbs - but could not get the last butt. Had to pull the pick, ran in, one short unproductive drift. Had to throw the pick out for one fish at the Wart, 140ft, 20miles out, got the little rasal and went home to Homer. I shall try to post more Halibut adventures but that took some time. I'm not that fast at typing and not that good at writing. Take Care, Capt.Dave Flower www.alaskafishhomer.com |

Subject: First Charter of the Season
Well, here's the biggest fish from the first charter of the season on April 9, 2001. As you can see, the sea was great and they had a terrific time! We are going on the tagging cruise on April 26 for the Homer Halibut Derby. Any fisherman who catches a tagged halibut during the summer will get between $500.00 and $10,000.00. Should be fun! Subject: Captain B's Alaskan C's Adventures
Hello, This is the boat that Karen and I went out on. It is moored in Homer, Alaska. It is a 44' Jersey Sportfisher manufactured in NJ, my home state... heheh =) Let me tell you all that this boat is completely plush in all its comforts and fishing amenities. It is Captained by Bryan Bondiolo and complimented excellently by his first mate, Toby. These guys are the greatest!!! They are the most dedicated, accommodating, fun-loving, knowledgeable (the list goes on...) and competent crew I have ever been out with, and you all know I have fished a few times. =P Anyway, I will be sending you all copies of as many PICS as I can while I have to stay awake for the salmon I am smoking right now. To give you all a BRIEF synopsis of our fishing trip, Karen and I fished 3 days in a row. They were Saturday the 19th of August through Monday the 21st. Now let me just say that I warned Karen of how bad the seas and weather were in the AK and she was pretty worried about rough seas and constant rain. Well, as you will see by the PICS we had bright sun and GREAT seas the entire 3 days and the fishing was just about as incredible as could ever be asked for!!!!! There were times when I looked around me in the boat and there were 40"+ Lingcod coming over the rails left and right. Believe me when I tell you this is no exaggeration! Karen and I kept 7 lingcod with the smallest being 40" and the largest measuring a WHOPPING 50"!!!!!! This Ling weighed in at 48 lbs 2 ounces!!! Man it is Insane!!!! The Halibut fishing was equally crazy with nonstop action of keeper fish running between 18 and 35 lbs. We did see a 50 lb and 70 lb caught while out on our 3 days. What GORGEOUS fish! Captain B and his deckhand Toby also selflessly took the time to hook me into a TROPHY Yellow Eye Rockfish to go with my TROPHY lingcod... The Yellow eye measured 30" and weighed in at 18 lbs 6 ounces. For my 50" Lingcod and 30" Yellow eye I am submitting for an Alaska Trophy fish certificate. If accepted I will get a nice little certificate saying basically I caught a HUGE fish...on the best boat!!!!!!! What a blast!!!! How great was it??? Well, I had little Karen out there for 3 days straight on the boat for 10-12 hours and only getting 5 hours sleep every night and she out-fished almost everybody including me heh =) NOT! =P Well enjoy all the PICS and let me know what ya all think... we miss you all Sean Karen Hunter and Felix

Subject: tiny fish
When I went fishing at Glacier Bay the Captain wouldn't let us keep any halibut under 45 lb. We sure were glad too because we filled up on 80-250 lb ones. |

Subject: Excellent Fishing!!!
Fishing has been excellent every day. Each day's fishing is customized to the group on board. Some days our clients want to fish for the fast bite and 20-45 lb halibut and other days fishermen want to go on a long range, multispecies trip to try to catch Lingcod, Yellow-eyed Rockfish, other species of Rockfish and Halibut. The seas have been cooperating and the fishing great. Bryan Bondioli Captain B's Alskan C's Adventures |
