Hi Guys, Well this was my last week in U.A.E and yesterday was my last fishing trip went out from Ajman in a boat and wow had a great time, we started trolling however couldn’t get anything , and then did bottom fishing and caught 12 barracuda and they put up a good fight , 5 big sharies,4 sultan ibrahim,3 marklin, 3 queen fish, 2 cat fish, and some other fishes total weight was 30-35kg approx.Well inshallah will go to India thinking of going for Masher the so called the “water tiger’’, will move to Saudi for a job and would start my fishing there, well I am not that old in the forum but I have found it very useful ,my best regards to Pranab who showed us good spots and shared his knowledge ,a very friendly good person by nature ,would always look at this forum and see what’s up in the u.a.e .Would also like to thank people who have shared information regarding fishing spots in u.a.e . Regards, Abdul Mujeeb |

Went out fly fishing at the umm sequim fishing village area this morning, as soon as I got there I noticed birds dive bombing the place, so I put on a small deciever, cast it out and bang! I landed a 1kg+ queenfish, we fished on for about an hout and maneged to catch 11, all on fly! The biggest was about 2KGs, and great fun on a 6wt fly rod! |

Hi All, Was up the Musandam at the weekend and camped over. I took the RIB boat with me. It is such a wonderful place to be. The scenery is stunning and the potential for all kinds of fishing is vast. The first morning we were on the water by 5am. We headed out to where there was alot of bird action and found ourselves in the thick of the action. Huge amounts of small bait fish which i think were anchovies being pushed to the surface by mostly barracuda. We trolled through it for 3 hours and the action was non-stop. First to the boat was a nice Queen fish, around the 6-7kg mark and then cuda after cuda! Some as big as 10kg's. I was as sure as i can be that i saw a reasonable Tuna breach the surface with its unmistakable barrel shape. The action stopped as sudden as a switch being turned off so we headed in for brekkie. We were looking forward to some dusk fishing and i set up a large livebait on a balloon rig but the sea grew very choppy and there really was not alot happening so after an hour we headed in and got some sleep for another morning assault. We were not dissapointed and the action was just as good if not better than the previous morning. All cuda again with the exception of a Kingfish. Everything we caught was returned except the Kingfish. Another fantastic visit to the Musandam. This place has never let me down whether i have been rock fishing or from a boat. On snorkeling around the penisula close to where we camp i have always seen sharks and my next trip i want to target these. The problem of red tide was apparent, but only in the heat of the day. My take on it is that the algae is present at night and in the cool of the morning but it is the heat that prompts the algae to 'bloom' ie reproduce and then die. It is once the algae dies that it turns red and produces the rotten smell. It was however not as bad as i have seen on the East coast although i wish it would dissapear from these waters altogether! tight lines! Troll |

Adam - I thought I read that fishing season is closed from May until October, but maybe that was just people talking about the weather vice regulations. I love to get up early to fish, and have been traveling to the Gulf for 20 years so will deal with the weather. When I get a local phone I will send you the number and maybe we can fish. I am bringing a bunch of Clousers and Deceivers of various sizes and colors, along with shrimp, redfish, and bonefish patterns I have tied. Have an 8 weight rod with floating and sink tip lines, plus another 6 weight outfit. Am interested in exploring kayak fishing around the inshore here. I look out from the Intercontinental Hotel where I usually stay at all the channels and islands right here along Al Bateen and it appears very fishy to me. So I would definitely like to fish with you when my gear arrives. Tight lines - Kevin |

Guys, Red tide has killed lot of fish just off Hamriyah and UAQ, couple guys went out Friday and reported loads dead fish, so bad you could smell them. Not a good sign, hopefully winds the past couple days will have brocken it up and put some oxygen back in to the sea. Bod. |

Hi Kevin I am based in Abu Dhabi and fly fish and shore fish. You are welcome to join me for a trip out some time. It will be hot but at the end of the day it's what you can stand really. If you fish early morning till say 10.30-11am, you'll be ok. But wear plenty of sun screen. Cheers. Adam |

dear all, Thanks for all your replies. I'm grateful for your posts and i'm sorry if i offended anyone with my post. I was just speaking my mind and it did seem like no one was willing to help. I guess everyone thought someone else would reply as it is the most common question to be asked on forum's i guess. Still thanks to all that replied. I did check the previous post but there;s nothing like up to date information, as you know marks fish differently day by day, let alone month by month and all the spots to fish were listed many months ago - different fishing season etc. It seems boat fishing is the top recommendation right now. Thinking of heading out either Friday or Saturday now ideally ina boat. Anyone know of any good charter boats that you would recommend that is good value for money. Once again thanks for the many responses and apologies for a harshly toned message, it wasn't meant that way. Regards, Shakeel |

Hi Shakeel, Browse through the archives, you will find lots of spots being shared by anglers. PLEASE don't accuse the anglers of not willing to share their favourite spots. Forum members are tired of repeatedly giving the spots over and over again and over again and over again Can't blame anybody because its the one thing this forum board is missing....SUB CATEGORISING (threads/folders)!!!!! There is another forum board which most of us are also members....www.fishemirates.com which is much easier for browsing...due to the sub categorising/threads/folders. Have a look there. Anyway, I would be more than happy to help you BUT I am no longer in the UAE.....furthermore have never had much luck with shore fishing...other than few black spot snappers and few tiny sheries....oh!!!! just remembered the few needle fish. Most of my good catches were on boats. I had even shared the contact numbers of the charter boat operators sometime back....in this forum. IF you need an INSTANT INTRO into the fishing world in the UAE........One of the World's renowned figure is the "SEAEXPLORER" Ciao! SEAEXPLORER.......Come out, come out wherever you are! |

Hi Shakeel Sorry that no one has come back to you. I am based in Abu Dhabi so can only comment about here. If you search through the old posts on this forum, you will see many spots people have commented about. As you probably know from your experiences of fishing, it is also as much down to luck and gods will to let you catch fish. Your welcome to join me fishing in Abu Dhabi if you are up this way anytime. Tight lines. Adam |

Hi guys, Sorry to criticise but i expected this to be helpful forum where those that fish in teh UAE would be helpful to others that were new to the area and wanted some guidance, one angler to another. Looks like a closed circle of anglers in the UAE not willing to help the new ones. Still i'll try again - can anyone recommend good fishing spots in an around dubai/ sharjah. Where are the big ones known to be biting? I hope there's atleast one helpful soul on here interested to help. THanks and apologies for calling it how i see it. |

To all my fishing friends , I thought i wont ever write again in this forum . But today i break that promise because i am saddened by situation where most of my fishing friends have to leave this country for the time being . No one wants to live dubai as its such a nice place to stay and enjoy fishing here . So i request to you all who feel the same way like me to come forward and do a fishing trip this weekend on friday along with those guys who are leaving this country in un avoidable circumstances . Would appreciate response from other fishing friends on this issue . I am sure like me all the other forum members who have fought on many issues in the past to forget every thing and make this last fishing trip for our dear friends a success . The purpose of this trip is not to chat a lot of fish but to be with our dear friends whom we do not know when we will meet again . I am sure with those who are still lucky enough to have our jobs in uae can show this small gesture and stand beside our friends who are leaving and give them a memorable deep sea fishing trip With regards Pranab 0506789546 |
