Boat Flags, Boating Flag Poles, & Dive Flags

Boat Flag PoleBoat flags are a mark of personal identification for your boat especially when you go boating among other boaters in crowded waters. They are particularly useful in boating races as they mark the boat during the race. They should be light enough to fly from the bow or stern of the boat and at the same time thick enough to withstand wind pressure as the boat moves.

Fishreports.net and Boaters World offers all styles and types of different boat flags, dive flags, boat flag pools, and accessories.

Boat Flag SocketFlag poles are required to hoist your boat flag during boating trips. Aluminum and wood are some of the common materials that go into the construction of flag poles. When selecting a flag pole, make sure that it has a durable finish and is preferably maintenance free. It is best to buy a flag pole which has a waterproof finish to ensure that it will not rust or break away due to constant contact with marine weather. They should be easily portable and the flag pole’s size must correspond to the area where the flag pole is to be placed.

Dive FlagDive flags are used by boaters when they are diving into water. It is essential to use them during diving, as they help to warn the surrounding boats that there is a diver down below and so not to cross the same area as the diver.

The common dive flags, which are required as per law, to be used by divers are the traditional diver-down flag [red flag with diagonal white stripes] and the Alpha flag. The traditional divers flag was first developed in the year 1957. The Alpha flag, which is the blue and white flag, is intended to protect vessels from collision.

The Alpha flag intends to inform vessels around that it has a diver from its vessel down in the water, so the movement is restricted and therefore the vessels surrounding it need to keep clear and go at a slow pace.
