Subject: fishing report/ 9/13/00
After one of the most productive springs in years, the drought came. The water temps really hurt the summer fishing. Things are getting back to normal now that we have had some rain. I had a guided trip yesterday and was astounded by the number of fish we caught and the vigor they had. Les, from ARK. said that these fish out fought the ones on the famed White River in ARK. Our best bug was the Copper John. We still have a trico hatch, BWOs, evening caddis, and the mahogany duns are now comming on. I personally like the sculpin for the rainy day and evening pissed off brown trout. A phesant tail, olive hares ear will also work as a nymph. Come visit us, this is one of the greatest unknown rivers in the west. |
