The Lady Hookers Fishing Club of the Central Coast is hosting an introductory fly fishing seminar on March 15th at the San Luis Yacht Club in Avila Beach at 6:00-8:00pm unfortunately the instructor we had lined up had to cancel. Can anyone out there help us out. We are looking for someone to share their knowledge of the basics and go over equipment. We expect 40-50 to attend the event. Fee paid to you for the 2 hours 80.00 plus dinner. Call me if you can help Karen 805-748-1964. or email:Ladyhookersfishingclub@yahoo.com |

Hi John Not quite sure where you are from to offer guidance on where to begin. I would suggest look in your own locality for a flyfishing club and join, here you will find all the help you require as us Flyfishers are all helpful. Basic equipment would be a fly rod reel & line each rod has a line weight and this must comform to the line weight for best results. Then you need the magical flies ( remember more fishermen are caught by flies than fish )The members of your club will help you on this or a local tackle shop will advise on what flies and where to fish etc. If you are in the UK ( even if not go to the forums section of www.flyfishingscotland.com and post a question there also. Hope this is of some helpful for you and contact me if I can help further. If you enjoy fishing and the open air you cannot fail to love flyfishing and all the things that it can involve ( casting techniques to tying flies and the many and varied venues ) Flyfisherman |

I'm wanting to learn how to fly fish. Or rather I'm going to start fly fishing and was wondering if anyone can give me some good tips on: 1) Where to begin? 2) What equipment to buy for this type of fishing? 3) What are my odds of me loving fly fishing? Thanks |
