Will. My previous post originated from BAT board. Based on Chloro and SST, Sur Cyn might be holding fish as it's tied to the same water where the 4-pack charter boat Atun has been scoring good numbers of decent grade albies up to #35, north and inside of the Davidson. I'll be sure to post numbers if they arrive later t-nt. Good luck to all and enjoy the fine weather. |

Well, just got back from Miguel...2 boats, 6 guys, 6 limits. 80% reds, the rest lings and grande johnnies. One whitefish that went 7lbs on the scale. Glassy out there, no wind...soupy fog all day, except it cleared up 19 miles off the beach on the way in. No real big fish...biggest reds were about 6lbs. They loved the chartreuse Gulp teasers 16" above a jig. Heard the Admiral on the radio above us tuna hunting...sorry to say no love when we heard around 1030am...do hope things change for the guys looking tomorrow. Radar is a must. Plenty of tug and barge traffic. |

Greetings, Fished PSL in the mini. Caught two halibut, one keeper (25") in 40-45' of water off the pea patch on chovies. Super nice day on the water. Mark Godfrey (Misstress) went out to the weather buoy and caught a 90# opah. Here's a pic. He caught/saw no tuna. Awesome fish. I'll save the story for Mark.

Well I have a crew so I will be out there tomorrow. If we head out of Morro will start at approx. 34'31 and 121'18 if from SB will start at 34' 14 and 120' 54. I am leaning a little more towards SB because of a shorter drive from Lompoc and a downhill run home even if it is a little farther to the water. Graylight you posted that Galen would be up at 4:30 for bait, is that still a go? Hope to hear some info today. Will watch for last min. info before pulling the trigger. Lets go get em. |

Hello Micheal Gordita, Last year first week of November, we fished the same area you are looking at. Stopped at 27 miles on the break set lines and had our first fish in the box within ten minutes. Fished bait for three hours headed home at 1:00 PM. Finished the day off with 7 fish from 30 to 40 pounds. Had one person break off 4 in a row. The rest of the boats went 50 miles the same day returning home with plenty of fish. We are looking to run Sunday, and will be trolling through this area on the way towards the donut. Of course this can change depending on what the boats find tomorrow. Best regards, Joseph & Tami Anderton BBQ |

Greylight, I am looking at Sun for a tuna run also. Don't know yet if I'll run from Morro or SB. Nice color/ temp break outside Arguello. Top looks a little closer to Morro 55nm but the ride home is uphill. The bottom end looks about 61 nm from SB and the ride is downhill home. Where ever I launch from I will monitor 16/68 and share info. Anyone else ready to make a run? Vessel "Island Girl" 26 skipjack |

Fished rockfish yesterday out of MB for a good catch of reds to 8lb and one barely keeper ling. The best morning bite was straight off the abalone farm north of Cayucos in 110-130ft.The offshore wind and wind chop against the incoming swell made it hard to fish by 10:00am,but we were pretty much at limits anyway. All our fish were on hardware and swimbaits. We did not bother with the live bait...jeff |

Well, I hope anyone looking for tuna this weekend gets 'em. For what it's worth, I'm hearing no bait available at Monterey or Moss at the moment...Monterey is closest in nautical miles than Moss or Morro to where the latest albies were caught...above the center of the Davidson...really nice couple of breaks down this way as noted...but with the weak season so far who can be confident? Arguello has a nice look, but....nobody's beein making it happen on the inside. 311 has a nice look, but same story. I was blessed to get my tuna during the flurry two weeks back...have a busy weekend preparing for a school trip...so I'm doing the sprint out to San Miguel tomorrow morning, leaving 0500...looking for reds/lings...need to pull on something and not burn the weekend trying! Hey Mike....promised land...c'mon buddy! |

The waters "inside" have been plagued by schools of bonito. They can be pests. But these inner waters hold promise for albacore, especially for those who work bait balls holding fish marks. Might suggest using live bait with lead at various depths while chunking fresh dead dines. Chrome and blue iron like the Tady A-1 is always worth a shot too. Outside, the area below the Donut on down to Arguello Cyn has a decent 61-degree edge where warm blue water meets off-color green. If there's bait around there's a decent chance at longfin. |

Michael I don't know if this has anything to do with the water being connected, but when we were catching bonito 2 miles off the beach earlier this week, they were full of (don't know how to spell) sauries, which we also saw coming out of the water. |

Drama, Drama...I have a non-drama question..The water outside of morro bay at about 18 miles looks good on terrafin and the weather should be ok too. Is anyone going to attack this area or is it not connected enough to the "highway"to be considered?? It looks like the same temp as the davidson water, where fish were caught!!! Opinions anyone??? |

Josepth Anderton BBQ: Kudos to you for bringing to a verbal level what many of us probably feel inside about the slippage in demeanor often seen in this posting arena. Some (but not many) of the posts coming aboard are nothing more than a testimonial to a few writers' chronic blood/alcohol imbalances. Comments like yours help to plow the sludge off the decks so that we can get back to the more fulfilling work of fully sharing the joy of our mutual sport. I borrowed this thread from another site. No numbers at this time. Will post as they come in. "The ATUN is down at the Davidson with a Coastside Fishing Club group. They just made a 2 hour stop for 20-30 Albacore! I'll post the final report when they get in tomorrow. Looks like they're still out there! Go get em! Good luck!" The "ATUN" runs out of Tom's SportFishing Moss Landing, Monterey Bay Reservations: 831.633.2564 AASportFishing.org Here's another one From BATC today: "Capt. Donnie on the Atun reported they had one hot stop in the morning that lasted for almost 2 hours. They had a 4 angler charter and they put 25 albies on that stop........their only one of the day. The fish boiled at the boat. The bite got shut down when the grinners showed up. Weather was choppy but improved throughout the day. Fish metered but stayed down the rest of the day. Phone signal was breaking up but managed to hear that location was North of the Davidson. Hope to hear more details later................ " Deadly Dave ___________________________________ We will be looking Sunday Soccer Saturday & Davis dinner. Good luck to everyone looking. Sounds like a great idea Bob we may leave after the dinner late(between 12:00-2:00)and head out nice and slow. Plans could change when you guys find them at 30 miles Saturday |

Hello Michell, & Robert Mitchell, Michell, thank you. Robert, is there some time in our past that I have wronged you? If so I'm sorry. I'm not in the market of bragging. I thought posting pictures and information on where and how we caught our fish was helping people out and what this site is about. I will say, your remark and a few others like yours in the past is the reason why I have slowed way down posting on this site. One thing for sure, we all need to be happy for our fellow fisherman and their crews for having successfull fishing days. I have found being happy for other fisherman, they have been more than willing to share their knowledge and experience, which has contributed greatly to our best fishing days. Best regards, Joseph Anderton BBQ |

Tuna Hunters, This looks like a great wekend for Tuna.I wish I was able to go. I am paying back all of the times I missed family events finding Tuna this year. Wedding in Sacramento, Oh boy what a joy. If I where going I would look at 34,19.25/121.08.24 and head to the donut or 35.35.09/122.02.52 and head to the donut. they are both hard current breaks and they run up and down the same cayon I always find fish on.This canyon runs all the way up to Monterey. The chloropyll charts have the same break on it as the warm water, add these together and I believe this is a great combination to find the big schools again. Good luck and please post ther results good or bad. Stuck in Sacramento. The Onieda B/Mike |

Robert, why don't you not worry about it since you were not part of the crew that caught the fish that day? By the way, Joe didn't post that picture, I took it and asked Mark to post it for me. Pay attention to what's going on before you ask stupid questions, read the fish report from that trip. |

Three days ago there were good scores of albacore caught 18 mi west of Santa Cruz in 59-60 degree water which gives me some hope that possibly the area around the old PLS weather buoy may be worth trying this weekend when the weather should flatten out. There is a temp break there that looks interesting and its beats fishing for sandabs. Bob |
