hi keyur ,

It was nice meeting you , this weekend friday early morning 5 we have hired a boat for deep sea fishing . Hopefully the trip will be 3 hours in deep sea . Its my first deep sea trip . So quite excited about it . Hope fully we will hear a lot of whipping sound of 6 rods and i am just wishing all my predictions are wrong tht firday is not a good day . Because all of us want the gust of the salty iranian water and want loads of fish . Would be making some new rigs for deep sea fishing , bought bigger size hooks and heavy duty lines . Saturday i want to join you . Let me know if we can go that crazy sharjah spot . I would try for king fish there . Got a few tips from a omani fisher man . Would try to apply that . Today i saw the sea water is very clear . So i am already smelling fish . Would keep you posted about the deep sea fishing trip frm the forum . I am taking my camera to catch all the action on the tripod . No more today bye guys .

Hi Cornel,

I did fish there a couple of times last year. There is a light house. On your left (when facing the sea) is a port and the water outlet is on your right as well as a rocky jetty. There are guys who cast from the structure above the water outlet. I did get some small fish and the place was infested with rays which put me off. Yes, lots of turtles there.
Thanks for the offer this Thursday, but I will be at work. Will join you some time when possible. Thanks again.

Hi heber,
you have to take the left at the RAK Hilton, then follw the road signs to the beach club, till you reach some villas take a right into the lanes at these villas and find your way to the jetty. the attraction for the fish is that there is alot of hot water being pumped out there as a result of the power plant so therefore alot of small bait fish & thats the reason you get huge amount of barracuda, trevally, mullets, rays plus the occasional turtles which r a sight for sore eyes really cute so you got to be careful at times when casting so that you do not snag them at any time. will be going there hopefully on thursday. best timings to fish is around 6am to 9am anyway by that time u get really tired with all the action and the heat. the tide was high and coming in at that time. The GT s i caught were about 3-4kgs same with the spotted trevally the cat fish about 3 kgs. it seems that i can't load the pics don't know why will try though.
cheers
Cornel

Hi Cornel,

I have fished in RAK near Hilton last year and fishing wasn't that good. Maybe it is pretty good this year. Any pictures of your catch you can mail across?? Also will be good if you can post instructions to reach the spot. What time did you fish and how was the tide?? Was it from a jetty ?? GTs are quite exciting to catch and they can be very large in size.

Cheers

Hi Guys,
Good to see so many people on this forum, been busy last couple of weeks but last friday i did get a chance to go fiahing in RAK it is a pla ce near the hilton beach club. Fishing was really amazing caught a huge 6-7kg Ray, plus 1 spotted trevally and two giant trevally, plus one cat fish. This was really good after all those depressing catches of small shery/snappers etc. would advise alot of you guys to go there the trevally come in huge shoals and the best lure/tackle to be used is sabiki hooks nos, 10/12.alot of sightings of barracuda and decent size of mullets.

Cheers

hi Hany ,

Nice to hear from you . Could you pls leave ur cell no so that i can be in touch with you . I am working on a small research about catch in uae . Please refer to my earlier post .I waited whole thrusday night to end up with one small sheri . After that i decide to do this project . Would u please call me on my cell 0506789546 . I am working on a dubai fishing calender . Call me so that i can explain which days you should go fishing and expect better catch and the timing of the fishing hours . I am also charting a costal depth chart of the whole of uae . Some the forum friends here are pitching in to share the cost of this map . It would cost per head 50 to 40 dirhams . In case you are intersted do get in touch with me . Also report your catch during the present week as per my earlier posted format to help us to build a dubai fishing calender . We do have a fishing calender now but thts a japanes version and its based on PST (pacific standard time) I am trying to convert it to dubai time and see the effect . Would lv to meet you and go for joint fishing trips . We would be organising a deep sea fishing trip shortly.

regards

You can get a details of the products at

The technology is simple . A tramitter known as the cast is thrown in the water and it emmits sound waves which get reflected on a moving fish and gets reflected to the receiver which in turn is transformed into images in the screen . It gives the size of fish location of fish in the water in terms of two locators and depth also helping you to caste in that direction . AGRICULTURAL RESOURCES are the only co who owns the distributors of this product in uae . For me to dish out this money is not possible but preba may be for u its worth while to save time . If you want to know the performance of the product i knw a guy by TAMIMI who is a forum member he has got one of this RF 35 model which u can wear like a watch while u go fishing . Please be in touch with him for more details . By the way preba i negotiated 10 pc off from the listed price with the shop so if u go there try to sqeeze him down for at least 20 to 25 percent . In the mean time let me hunt down other tackle sites and see wht is the international sites offering on this product . I think i will try digital dagger.com

Hi ,

Just wanted to share a philipino guy taught me this the phases of moon and their effect on fish feeding activity . After than i had been doing a lot of reading on this topic . I hope you all will love this article which i pickd up frm net while i was surfing .

Tidal action is evidence of the moon's influence upon the waters of Earth. The "Best Days" to go fishing on the moon phase calendars show the days on which fish will tend to feed more aggressively. Using moon phases to plan fishing trips is only one factor in planning a fishing strategy.

You must also know the habits of the species! Trout and albacore fishing is usually slower around the full moon because the fish feed at night. Tides are strongest on the full moon which usually makes for the best sturgeon and striper fishing. Migratory fish often come into a river system in greater than average numbers on a higher tide, when weather conditions are favorable.
