Hi Pranab,

how are you ? How was your fishing trip ? any luck ? hope you got some good snaps.

I wish I could have come, but sometimes, I have to keep my commitments to my home too.

I should manage to make time this friday & maybe saturday too.

Heber, do let me know what your plans are. I know I said earlier that Friday is not possible, but looks like I will be able to make it.

Hi Cleo,

looks like you are a lucky guy to have a holiday on thursday. it would be great to go out fishing on a boat. Have a great trip & please dont empty the ocean. Leave one fish for me to catch :o)

what kind of equipment are you talking about ? anything specific? Are you all geared up for a sea trip ? Please dont forget to take a camera for some nice photos.

Have fun and all the best.

Yesterday was a great day at Maktoum. Myself, my wife and Keyur were there from 10 am to 2.30 pmand silver grunts were pouring in along with sheris, all of very good size (big). We managed a total of 17 silver grunts between us. Keyur was lucky when he pulled out two grunts in one go. Most of them were sent back to the waters. The Korean guys fishing from the morning had tons of fish, all sorts of them. One of the guys missed a barracuda. It was a nice after noon.

This morning we went to Jumeriah breakwaters at 5.30 am and had a very small catch as mentioned by Keyur. The hammour was a small one. Lost a lot of lines and in all a bad day.

Sorry Pranab, can't make it today as I've planned to finish some other work, before the week starts tomorrow.

Cheers,

Heber

Dear Pranab,

I must say, you should try & read the stars a little better :o)

I had a very good catch yesterday (Friday)at Maktoum bridge. And as proof, Heber was there too. I wont say anything more, just that as promised I didnt keep any fish, but gave it all to Heber. Heber will tell you how much fish we caught. I got @ 7 Big Silver Grunts, besided some Sherii. Heber too caught some silver grunts. We have photos of the catch & I'll probably post them when I get some time.

Today was a horrible day to fish. I got a few bites, but nothing great. I managed to catch 5 sherii in 4 hours, while Heber too got a couple of sherii, 1 hamour & 1 khoffer. We went to Jumeirah break waters.

THANKS TO MR PERNAB WE MET AT MAKTOUM BRIDGE AND BACOME FRIEND.
YESTERDAY I HAVE BEEN TO JUMEIRAH 5 WEATHER OK BUT SEA WAS LITLE ROUGH. AS I STARTED FISHING ON MY FIRST THRIOUGH NEXT 2 TO THREE MINTS I BIG KITE FISH IN FACT HOOKED ME AND I KNEW WITH MY EXPERENCE THAT IT IS A KITE FISH ONCE IT START MOVING IT MOVES ONLY AND IF IT GETS A CHANCE TO GO GOUND THEN IT STICKS TO GROUND AND YOU CANT PULL IT AT ALL SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME I WAITED FOR SOME TIME FOR THE FISH TO MOVE BUT NO WAY THEN I KEPT MY LINE TIGHT AND THEN PLAY LIKE A GITAR WHICH GIGLED FISH TO MOVE AND THEN I MANAGED TO PULL THE FISH IT WAS AROUND 9-10 KGS I BROUGHT IT OUT OP TO THE STONES TO TAKE OUT THE HOOK YOU NEED A GALF HOOK TO LIFT FISH YOUR LINE CANT SPORT YOU TO LIFT FISH EVEN YOU HAVE A STRONG LINE. AFTER TAKING THE HOOK I JUST RELEASED THE FISH BACK TO WATER.
THEN I MANAGED 5 BARA CUDDA 12" TO 15" OF SIZE TO CATCH BARA CUDDA I AM SHORE THAT YOU ALL MUST BE KNOWING TO USE FISHING HOOK WITH STEEL WIRE. MORE OVER TO GO TO THIS TYPE OF PLACE YOU HAVE TO HAVE SOME ONE WITH YOU ALL THE TIME. I USED SMALL BANGRA WHICH IS CALLED SEEMA IN FISH MARKET FOR ONE FISHING YOU NEED ONE TO TWO KG FISH FOR TWO PERSON. YOU CAN USE UMMA (SARDINE) BUT IT IS TOO SOFT.
ANY HOW GOOD FISHING AND GOOD LUCK.

hi keyur ,

AL SHEEF SPOT LOCATION :

The best way to reach this spot drive from burjuman side towards strand cinema signal an take left from there towards the creek , then take the first right cut as u approach the creek , when you will see a small bus parking kind of thing . At the back of it will be the small abra counter . and there are 3 jettys going out in the water which are build new there are also two small one but they are used by abra guys . Take the last newly built jetty which has got a gargash ( mercedez benz boat tied to it ) . Walk up to the end of the jetty and cast . A good cast will take u exactly middle of the creek water . fishes you can except here are medium size cat fishes and very decent size sheris . This area dont hv weeks like the makthoum area . And the best part is your hooks will never get stuck here , this thing i like most . I am driving to oman kalba this week end to test omani waters . So happy fishing guys at dubai . Sorry i will miss this weekend here . But saturday morning i am open if its early morning like 4.30 till 8.30. For your information saturday which is 21 take my words will be very very good . So please get ready to whhooop your rods and expect some sweating on 21,22,23 .

By the way althoght my predection on friday is bad day but do let me know if you happen to catch more than 6 fish on friday morning or even in afternoon. From late evening things will improve specially with high tide at the second half of the day .

Hey dont kill me if my predections are wrong . I am just trying and playing around with the chart buddy .

HAPPY FISHING

ART OF RELEASING THE HOOKS FROM THE ROCKS

yesterday while we were fishing due to bad throw from firaz twice the hooks were stuck in the rocks . Even i thought we have to break the line . But then we had Mr Naveed our new friend from islamabad . I just thought as he fishes in this area why not ask him .

So here is the lesson . He took the rod from my hand and sat down kneeling on the rock . Lowered the tip of the rod and released the drag and released the bale . Just flicked the line for a couple of time . Amazing result . It came off within 2 mins . Each day as i watch experienced fisherman from different countries of different nationalities i wonder how much i hv to learn about fishing and its rightly said a fishermans paradise is like a wide open ocean .

Yesterday i learnt two important things . Although its a bad day and we managed only 4 fishes which went exactly in line with my predection .

1) BE PATIENT
2) CHANGE RIGGING STYLE IT ITS NOT WORKING FR LONG
3) SWITCH BATE AND CARRY THREE TO FOUR KIND BATE
EXAMPLE WE USED IN ONE LINE 3 HOOKS AND INITIALLY WE USED ONLY NAGAR . WHEN IT DID NOT WORK WE USED ONE HOOK NAGAR , ONE BHANGRA , ONE SHRIMP . WE NOTICED THAT BHANGRA HAVE BEEN TAKEN ALL THE TIME . EXCEPT ONE TIME WHEN NAGAR WAS TAKEN BY CAT FISH . SO WHAT WE LEARNT ON DIFF DAYS DIFF KIND OF FISH IS MORE AND WE MUST SWITCH THE BATES IF ITS NOT WORKING . IT MEANS THT KIND OF FISH IS NOT THEN IN THAT AREA . FOR YOUR INFORMATION WE HAD ALSO UMA ALONG WITH US FOR ANOTHER OPTION .

ANY WAY IT WAS A GREAT TIME FISHING YESTERDAY NIGHT AND I PAY MY SINCERE REGARDS TO MR NAVEED AND MY NEW TAZAKI FRIEND MOHAMMED . WIHOUT THEIR ASSISTANCE IT WOULD HV BEEN A DEAD NIGHT FOR ME.

BY THE WAY IF ANY ONE CATCHES MORE THAN 5 FISH TODAY AND TOMORROW PLS LET ME KNW BECAUSE MY PREDECTION GOES TODAY AND TOMORROW WILL BE THE MOST DULL DAYS OF THE MONTH .

BUT I NEED THE DATA FOR THE RESEARCH OF FISH CALENDER SO PLS FRIENDS DO HELP ME ON THAT .

IN THE MEAN TIME I THINK I GO FOR CAMPING ON THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY S 66 THROUGH THE BEAUTIFUL VALLEY OF WADI HOOLOO WITH THE PICTURIOUS BACKDROP OF SEIKH SHAMMAR PALACE TO MY DREAM FISHING DESTINATION OF KALBA IN OMAN . I WNT TO CHECK OUT WHT IS THE EFFECT OF DULL DAYS IN THE FISH PARADISE OF KALBA .

LOT OF GUYS MUST BE WONDERING WHT GIVES ME SO MUCH OF ENERGY TO FISH FOR 6 HOURS AT NIGHT TILL 2 AND THEN BE BACK IN OFFICE AT 7.30 TO WRITE THESE POSTS . BUT MAN THIS IS IT FISHING IS ADDICTIVE AND IT REALLY REALLY PUMPS INTO YOU ENERGY . PEOPLE AT WORK TELL ME I AM MORE ACTIVE AFTER I WENT INTO THIS SPORTS .

FIROZ PLS UPLOAD THE PICS OF THE YESTERDAYS CATCH .

HAPPY FISHING

HAPPY FISHING

hi keyur ,

Yes the real price is usd 89 . I did not use it but i hv heard its a good reel . Yes i did go for fishing wednesday knowing well as per my predections till 20 it will be dull but i had to get the data for the DUBAI FISH CALENDER .

I did go yesterday because i wanted to show firoz how to make long casts and also because Mr Naveed who is our new friend from pakistan who had been fishing for the last 8 yrs in hamriya corniche , i could not resist myself to learn from his rich experience . So me Mr Naveed ,Feroz and salman well for the kill in . Biting was bad as predicted .

We had to stare at the vast ocean when first the rod which i threw which is actually feroz got a bite and we hooked up the first one . It was a sheri but as feroz is new into rod fishing he lost it while trying to land the fish . But the fish was out of water almost whn he lost it .

Then came the interesting part . Few intermittent bite and then i got a fighting cat fish on my rod . Then again all quite all bites gone . I suddenly saw a kazai guy introduced himself to me as moh . I knew from the glitter in his eyes that he is a avid fisherman . He told can he throw the rod. Which he threw but the bate landed near his feet .

I never underestimate people . Still something told me that he has fish knowledge . And how correct i was . I told him i will teach him to make long casts if he ties up my rig because i was lazy . I noticed he has a special kind of tying rigs . He insisted on size 5 hooks and he tied the rigs in 1 feet intervals which apprantly seemed to me very long and then again 1 feet and the stone . We put bhangra as bait but here is the trick he cut them in very small pieces and pierced along the hooks so no part of the hooks can be seen . A real art of a fisherman which made me so curious . I took the rod as the wild iranian wind hit my face and i tasted salt . God what a result while we were taking of going home . Moh insted to sit a little more . And wow i senced the line it was pulling . And imagine me and Mr naveed both struggled to land this one . No its not one 2 sting rays togather . It made our day . Sorry it was moh day who is apparently dont know hot to hold a rod . It was the victory of his fishing sence . Its not the end within 20 mins more i picked up a huge sting ray . The pictures all of them will be posted by feroz because he had a camera phone .

But at last i must say i hv to learn a lot of things because which made me sad is . I dont know the technique how to open a hook from a sting ray. All the time they swallow the hook completely . I think my striking of the rod was a bit late which i must improve so the hook is near its lip not all the way deep inside . I really wanted to release them as i dont eat them . But practice makes a man perfect . Specially a novice like me in this sport.

Any ways this is the fishig enviormetnt today.

HI Pranab,

the red colour fish in all probability could be a red snapper. Although I have not seen anyone catch any here, I know they exist. the other probability is that it could be a red hamour, which is more common than the red snapper in this part of the world. However, I havent seen them grow more than a foot long.

Another thing that confuses me a lot ......are the guys here for sport fishing, to relax by fishing, for hobby fishing, for passion of fishing or what ???

some of you guys are soooooooo deeply involved with lures, lines, reels, rods, that you forget about the fish.

I know that I enjoy fishing & I'm doing just that. Hope I can find some company of people who can just chill out & catch some fish :o)

Pranab,
I have the XH one and I didnt pay for it as I am Field Tester, I get products to test and keep them for free provided i Provide an openion about them. I only paid for the reel which is around $400.
as for the difference between them ....It's the weight handling and strength.
If you want a cheaper setup ...try basspro.com and go for the Ocean Mast cape point or ocean master light rods in the 12ft range and matched with a Diawa Emcat plus or Emcast pro. Much cheaper and you can handle up to 6ft shark.
for casting tech. try with over the head and go OTG ( Off the Ground) and once you only perfect OTG then you can go for the Pendlum cast.
Thanks and Good luck

Dear Keyur,
It's so nice to see that the Catch and Release is followed and we only keep what we want to eat. I could not tell if the fish were alive or not form the picture. But the buttom line is we conserve our natural resources so our future generations still experience the the same that we are.
Thanks and Good Luck on your next fishing trip.

Dear Rami,

I see that you are a conservationalist. So am I. I only take what I will eat. Not sure if you noticed. But the big silver fish (Silver grunt), is the same one in the basket. yes, even that looks small. So you see the sherri that were in the basket were not all that small. Morever, I do not have the habbit of holding the camera close to the fish to make them look big. Never the less, ever single fish in the basket (when photographed) was alive. I keep all the fish alive, till I decide what I will take home & what I will release. If you ask Pranab, when I met him, I was even going the release the bigger looking sherri that we caught, because I thought it was small.

I know that most people catch jeuvenile fish & I hate that. Besides, this weekend when I go fishing, I will not be keeping any fish for myself, as I already have fish at home. Fishing for me is a passion & I plan on enjoying it without others teaching me the finer points in life.

Hi Pranab,

For a start, you can try overhead casting and gradually move to pendulum casting. Change the tip to SIC. Please ensure that you have a shock leader upfront else you be expecting to have alots of burst line during your attempts to perfect it.

A good combination of 40lbs shockline and a 18lbs backing would be excellent if you can, with a spinning reel and also reminded to reduce the line slapping on the rod particularly with spinning.

A multiplier would be a good choice for such distance casting. Try Daiwa SLX20XH which has been proven for almost 20 years with much modification to suit surf casting.

We spoke briefly on Al Seef Jetty.

Hi guys ,

where are your catch reports . Although i said yesterday would be a dull day but i could not control my self when i went to change firoz surf road in deira market . I sat at the sindagha underpass spot and ohh god . With the first thow i got a bite . It was about 7 in the evening. I was fishing alone there with a group of people behind me curious . I caught a red coloured fish i dont knw the name . And it fought like hell . But the saddest part . With my second throw i lost my rig and while i was busy retreving it some one stole that lovely fish can u just imagine . So i see thieves are active here after the great wafi robbery . Any way met a person named Mr navid whom i plan to bring in the forum . I am impresssed by his baracuda stories and planning a join fishing trip togather .

Still cant forget tht big red fish . Unfrotunately i dont hv a camera phone other wise some one could hv told wht fish is that

Dear tamimi ,

Thanks a million , i totally agree with you that we have to balance the rod with the reel tht is the main clue behind sucess . But as you all know i am into fishing for just 1 months 20 days . Thats why i kee asking people like you who are long into fishing . I know about the saltiga setup that you hv mentioned . Thats my dream setup but its expensive out here . I am not rich like you guys so i hv to save money to get one of those . The best part of daiwa is they have a weight balance system which you can change with a control . So you can make the rod action suited as per your requirement . But many thanks once again for giving the information . By the way a new member who has been fishing in dubai for last 12 yrs hv joined . I am happy we can share his experiences . His name is Mr iftkhar and when i spoke to him i found he has caught more than any one baracuda fish . So looking forward for baracuda fishing . As i am tired with groupers now .

Hi Keyur,
I see you have a full basket of fish. Nice catch, but don't you agree that they're alittle bit undersized. We are sportsmen not KILLERS and I leave the rest to the fishermen judgement as what size to keep and what to relase as someone on this forum said before we are for the sport not the kill.
Thanks

Hi Pranab,
to answer your questions about surf casting.
I usually get out on my cast around 120 yrds to 170yrds depends on the setup i use.
I use a Daiwa SaeLine 10ft Graphite matched with Shimano Baitrunner reel with 30lb PowerPro. i use lead around 4 to 5 oz plus bait. and a 40lb mono shock leader 15ft long.
another setup is, Daiwa Saltiga Ballistic 13.3ft matched with Daiwa Saltiga Surf Spinning Reel SURF6000 with 30LB Power pro 600yrds and 60lb mono shock leader. i use 8oz plus bait. I get around 170yrds with this setup.
I use OTG casting tech.
You have to balance your rod and reel to get the max distance and lessen the arm fitegue of casting 8oz plus bait all day or jigs. my second setup is my most expensive one among my all the ones i have but it's worth every penny i paid for. the reel only wieght 19oz.
You can try www.youtube.com and search for Off the ground casting and other suft casting tech and you can find alot of ifno about how to get the max distance. also check this website
http://neilmackellow.sea-angler.org/index.htm
I hope i answered your question and feel free to ask more.

Hey Pranab,

catching 20 odd fish is not interesting at all. I'd say just go & have fun.

if the fish dont bite, then change your approach, change the tactics.

Its simple, if they have fixed timings for meals, just like humans, there's always some of them who like mid-meal snacks....lol

lets go & get them. Anyway, I will definately be going this Friday, not sure of sat.

Hi Everyone,

Here are a few pics taken on the last weekend (13th & 14th April) here in Dubai.

Sorry about the clarity of the pics on the first trip as they were taken by a mobile phone camera.

Can anyone identlfy the fish in the snap labelled 'No Idea' ?

The next one is a 'Silver Grunt' also caught on my first trip.

And here is a pic of a wierd looking 'Tripod Fish'. Caught 2 of them which I returned to the water.

These pics were taken on my second trip (Saturday 14th April)

Sherri (arabic) / Eng: Spangled Emperor

these fish are a pest & are very common.

and here is the catch of Trip 2 (1 .5 hrs fishing only) 1no Silver Grunt & 25nos Sherri

I have not mentioned the weight anywhere as a lot of people say 4-5-6 lbs / kgs, when they look like just 1-2kg....so please judge for yourself.

hi keyur ,

hmmmmmm may be u are correct , i will try out your theory about 4/5 hours before low tide this time . By the way i did tie the stone long below for sea weed at makthoum . although yesterday i stayed from 3 hours beforehigh tide i saw high tide and also 1 hour after low tide fish activity was nominal . i did end up with two cat fishes and losing 3 baracuda but i saw lot of marine activity specially when low tide started flowing out of the creek . as i dont hunt crabs i was not intersted but i saw a chinese couple picking up crabs like anything . It did suprise me a bit if crabs why there wont be any fish bites . may be we hv to do lot of more learning . But by the way i think 5 fish a day i will term as bad day . fr it to be a good day minimn 9/10 fish . good is 13 and any thing above 15 definately good . I was trying to convience a man i met yesterday tht we do pick up 15 fishes a day from the creek if the day is good . but as per him its impossible . he says all the fishes are gone from creek . no i wont belive that . may be baracudas hv reduced . but then why would i loose three rigs to barakuda bites when i was using mono . In one case we saw the fish run even as i was reeling in and the fish came to the surface of water . anywas thnks for the input keyur .

all i understood i hv to learn a lot about this new sport , but i dont worry i hv people like you around me

HI Pranab,

the casting setup varies depending on the type of fish you are trying to catch.
Each fish have their own particular feeding habit.

There are certain changes you have to make to your line while casting inland. I told you that you have to keep seaweed in mind while fishing at Maktoum bridge. Probably I could show you some tricks while fishing :o)

No I dont mean standing on my head & fishing....hahaha

Its quite simple, all you have to do is imagine the bottom of the sea, what all would be there, rocks, weeds, thrash etc, then imagine yourself to be a fish & decide where you would feed...lol

sounds funny, but it works for me everytime. After going out for @ 15 - 20 trips in the past 4 months, the smallest catch that I have got is 6 fish.

Also the best time to fish is @ 4 - 5 hrs before low tide. (as per my experience) Other may differ, but this is my experience. The water starts changing (going out)@ 2 - 2.5 hrs before low tide. That would give you @ 2hrs to fish.

If you start fishing as soon as its high tide, you dont give the sediments / thrash etc time to settle down.

The same goes for Low tide, but the chances of catching larger fish species are less.

Lets see what we can do this coming weekend.

Regards,
Keyur

hi rami ,

Thanks for the input . I am a little tired with inland fishing . So will like to venture out for shore fishing more . So i what i am looking at present is maximum shore casting . I normally cast about 80 yrds with a daiwa rod 7 .5 feet long with normal guides . I have heard long cast fishing rods have fuji nitride guides which reduces friction and gives longest of casts . So i have two specific question and ask you and also other forum members guidance as i am only 1 and a half month in this sport

Which is the best casting rod setup :

which is the best casting lead weighg for long cast:

which is the ideal breaded line for shore casting:

Any one of you who are old anglers and have been doing only shore casting please help me out on this issue . Because i dont have a good shore casting rod . I plan to go for it but would like to note your advices before i go for it.

Yesterday was very bad indeed . I just pulled up to cat fishes at makthoum . Very little bite . Firaz picked up the only sherry of yesterday . Omar our new frriend frm usa was so disappointed. I lost 3 times to barracude which tore my 20lb line until i changed it into steel leader with a solo hook . Anyways todays fishign enviornment is as follows . high tide exactly at noon .

Pranab,
I use powerpro 30LB (= 8lb Mono) on my surf rods and 65LB(=18lb mono) deepsea jigging. You can't beat the distance on the cast with braided lines. the only trick is you need to adjust your drag settings to much lower setting than Mono. here i get a 300yrd for around $25. so i'll stack up before i make my move. I use Floro for leader only whish is about 5ft max, or if i am going after a record fish i use 25ft max as per the IGFA standards

hi tamimi ,

I just cross checked the rates over phone from my tackle shop . 300 yards of spiderwire which is braided line is AED 160 . Another brand is there which is also braided known as TAITINUM is coming for AED 175 which has better tear strength . Both the prices are for 60 lbs line strength . Hope the above information is helpful to you .

hi tamimi ,

Yes i knw both the lines . But i think spider wire is better . its available in uae but a bit expensive . I think 300 yrs would cost you around 160-180 dirhams . So roughly around USD 50 . If you want i can ask one of the tackel shop owners wht is the present price going . I Normally YZURI FLUROCARBON which is completely invisble once it hits water . I prefer these because i do mostly shore fishing and creek fishing . One role comes for around USD 10 . So almost 1/3 the price . As in the creek where we normally fish the biggest fish found is around 20lbs so i dont think i justify using spider wire here as its a braided line normally used for bigger game fish when u are out in the open sea . Boating is expensive here so i go once a while and then i do lend spider from my friends .

Yes I do have a RF 35 and it's GREAT. but I dont live in UAE for now ...I still in the process of moving and it should be in 3 weeks or so and i am bring my gear with me ......once I am there, I'll give you a BUZZ.
also, you dont have to convert the time from PST to local ...the chart works on all time zone.
Does anybody uses Superlines ( Spiderwire, Powerpro....etc) and how much are they per 300yrds spool ?

Memed,

You have to go to the parking of Dubai Courts. The access to this is on the road while coming from Dubai Creek Park. As you come along the road after the last round about on the road, you can see the Dubai Courts building on your right and there is a road going into the Courts. Go inside and you can see parking on the left. If the cops stop you, just tell them you're going to the Maktoom bridge. You have to walk a little bit to reach the bottom of the bridge from where you can fish.

Cheers

Heber

HI Pranab,

I have managed to get the snaps for Friday afternoon trip & Saturday morning trip at Maktoum bridge.

I will mail them to you this evening & you can forward it or post it on the site. DO let me know if we can post pics on this site & if yes, then how.

I also have a few pics from my sharjah trips.

Also note: I did not catch GT's (Giant Trevallys) What I caught is called 'Silver Grunt' (Nagroor in arabic)

One of the fish I caught on friday (@ 4 1/2 kg) is a fish unknown to me. Maybe that was a GT, but as per the shape & colouration of a GT, this one did not match. I have the photograph (taken with a mobile phone camera) & also some tripod fish (which I returned back to the sea)

Heber, I heard that you are also a avid fisherman, it would be good to meet you sometime. Pranab has my contact no, in case you want to contact me. I plan on going fishing this coming friday & want to go to some other location. I found Maktoum a good place to fish, but I cant really enjoy my fishing if I pull up fish every 2 mins.(if you know what I mean) I dont want to empty the ocean of its fish, but I want to have an interesting fishing trip.

Dear heber ,

Yes i did top up the fuel , sorry for getting you stranded last night . But i appreciate your eagerness to join me around 10.45 when you are already in bed , it shows you are die hard fisherman , any way over all only one guy told me last week was good that is keyur who got one 3.5 kg GT out of maktoum and also had around 26 sheris at maktoum yesterday morning when we failed to get a single bite at maktoum at night at high tide . But my predection last week would be dull and it proved to be so except keyeurs report . My precection this week would be better with 16.17.18 better fishes and as i told you the activity will peak at 21,22,23 these three days are the days for best fishing this month . Let me see how good goes my predection . anyway fishing enviornment for today is

Mehmed,

We really cannot say as to the size and availability of fish at any given spot. Even with all the conditions seeming right, myself and Pranab failed to get even a bite at Maktoum last night. Myself and my wife lost two big hammours at Jumeirah after pretty long fights. Otherwise no bites at all over 4 hours of fishing. It is up to you to experiment and try. Fishing is all about luck mixed with patience. You should leave home with the attitude of having a nice time irrespective of whether you have any catch or not, otherwise fishing will become a frustrating experience. In a decade of fishing in Dubai, we have landed 22 big catch and upto 72 medium fish in a single session and sometimes never caught a single fish in days.

Pranab: Fishing over the weekend was excellent in the Jebel Ali area with plenty of medium sized catch. BTW did you top up your fuel??

Cheers

hi memed ,

hamour is best found in rocks . In jumeriah there is a spot near hotel burj al arab . There is a stone which has two part . One goes in the north other in the west . go the extreme end of the east rock and drop your line . in the creek at the side of the fish market there is a spot in the rocks again where u can get hamour . Beside this u can also get hamour at sharjah opposite side of mamzar park where the sea enters the lagoon . put your hooks there on the rocks . But be very fast once u get them . they run like lightining towards rock and once they areinside that you will loose them .
if you want any assistance about the location of spots call me on my cell 0506789546 .

Inside the creek there is no hamour at all so dont waste time there.

regards
