Oregon Tuna report.
Well, we had a great trip up North! Had absolutely perfect weather on Saturday and had the boat plugged with 17 tuna by 10:45. We were only 17 miles out! I heard a high score of 108 tuna for a private/commercial guy that I know!!! It was wide open to say the least. Guys about 5 miles further were getting doubles and triples, but we felt pretty happy with our larger fish and getting singles every 10-20 minutes.
The weather took a crap the next day and we only got 4 to the boat. Canned 126 pints at my uncles house on the Umpqua!!!
Click this link for photos and and more detailed report.
http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=162521
Basically, there are tuna everywhere up there. It is truly ridiculous. Email me if you'd like more info about fishing in Oregon. The Salty Dogs are a special group and will always help you out!.
best fishes,
steve

Fishing tomorrow out of Monterey for albies. I hitch a ride using Coastside hitchhiking board. Makes kinda nice, I don't have to trailer the boat, meet some nice folks with less hassle. Let you know how I do.

I fished albies today out of Monterey. I got four quick fish all 20+. Boat was not running right so I went in early. The fish were not jumping in the boat and the one boat that had double digits got 9 on a bait stop and from what I heard he wa the only one to get them going on bait, and that was his only bait stop. I got a double and 2 singles all on zuker zuccini brooms. Going again tomorrow on a friends boat.

Looking for some fishermen to go to Moss (Albies) or fish MB (Salmon & Cod).
Have capable boat and motorhome, need crew.
Call me 462-2524 home or 286-1732 cell.
If going to Moss we will need to leave tonight.
Or if you have an open spot on your boat I am ready to go.

The weather came down as advertised in fact ahead of schedule. Looks good for the next few days both here and Monterey. Good SST of the Monterey area monday night and it shows the temp break just out side the buoy at 42/29 which is about 30 miles from Moss. Should be some action and reports today!

Just found out that if you have AT&T DSL that is why we have not been able to connect to the Terrafin site. They are having problems in the 805 area code and is causing problems with opening some sites, including yahoo. They say it will be fixed by 8:30 tonight, but they said it would be fixed by 12:30 this mourning.

Jimmer: You may luck out on the weather. Wed/thurs shows a lull of around 10 mph. Good luck !

Kevin: I have been getting Terrafin just fine. Google "Terrafin" and see if you get their home page. If you do just send Jeff an e-mail with a descriiption of your problem and I am sure he will tell you how to fix it.

Weather:
Still looking good starting tomorrow both here and Monterey. Tides will probably be a problem at PSL for an early launch. For anyone looking for albacore here, there have been no recent pictures so it will be crapshoot. CSM and SM buoys are cold. Monterey has had some SST's lately. The water still looks good up there but has moved out from the buoy. Looking at the SST's I would say less than ten miles but the buoy area is still under clouds so can't tell exactly.

Fished Port San Luis this weekend in the Hali Tounament. No Luck on the Hali's but Sunday after some steering problems forced me to fish closer to Port my son and I got into the best salmon bite we've seen this year out of PSL. About 1/2 mile south and inside of the red light. 120-130. Large bait balls of anchovies being pushed around the area by Humpbacks
4 fish in less than an hour. Most were deep but the last one came less than 15 ft down as we were putting in the line. One fish on a watermelon croc other 3 on fresh bait from Deke.
Fish were not the usual 24,25 inch, more like 8-12lbs Not the originally our target but at least we had some satifaction for the weekend!
La Nina has blessed us with a late salmon run it seems.......Steve

This weather number has a bit of info for Ncal, 831-656-1725. Best for the Bay area and Monterey. Grew up in that area, gets a bit messy at times. Looking for surf in Peru myself, hope you catch a few...

The weather window for wed/thur/fri still looks good both here and Monterey. The water has cooled at the Monterey weather buoy. There was a pretty good SST shot up there yesterday that showed that the water has just moved out a bit but still looks fine. Can't tell how far it has moved because of clouds.

Fished MB for salmon today from 0700-1100 for 2 fish, released one. Smaller grade than last week, at least for us. Saw Dutch Ice boat a good one right next to us. Called it an early day. Seems like the fish have moved, maybe up and out?

Fished for the wiley Salmon out of MB today trolled from just out front to above Cayucos, One knock down is all we got, incidental catch was a 23' ling cod, a couple small blues one #2 gopher and a tree fish, ran south to hazards just for a look, real lumpy, steep short waves. Oh well, thats why it's called fishing.

Weather/SST for the coming week:

May be a window of opportunity both here and Monterey in the wed/thurs time frame. Worth watching ! The marine layer will be with us for the rest of the week with a a chance of clearing the end of the week which means no SST before the lull if there is one.

fished Morro Bay today above the 10e / radar buoy/ cayucos for 4 salmon. All our fish were 90-130 ft. down in 130-150 ft of water. Several other boats had multiple fish between 100 ft. down and on bottom.
We had to work hard to catch fish. Sounded like a pretty scratchy day for everybody. (maybe full moon had something to do with it). Quite a bit of bait marks all over. Alot of surface bait and concentrated haystacks here and there. Caught 3 fish in the morning and 1 at 3 pm. Weather was good. Will be out again Sunday.

Thanks for the info Joe, I got it working yesterday. I will keep their number for future needs and purchases.
Robb Ellis (Plan B) and I went to Santa Cruz last night to fish today for Sea Bass and salmon.
Got on the water at 5:30 and found the place called the Cement Ship just south of the Capitola Pier. It is literally a sunken ship close to the beach with a pier going to it. Real hard to miss.
So anyways we get to the spot and start looking around and making some bait. We spot about 10 Sea Bass on the surface eating bait. These fish looked to be between 20-40 lbs. They are right next to the boat.
But guess what we don't have any rods rigged for
