Not off.
When you walk down the main ramp, the first slip on the left and I think he is the third boat in. You can't miss the Vita Bella, Sea Ray with a Blue Bimini and a live well on the swim platform.

Let all your fishing friends in S.I. know about this site.
I also mailed the moderator of this site to ask for some enhancements, no response.

Went out Saturday on Fred's boat for Stripers around Tottenville, nothing. Got Porgies, one Sea Bass and one Fluke, all went back.
Took my boat out on Sunday with Sal for Weaks at the VZ. We got three weeks 4, 5, 6 pounds and two Blues, plenty of lost fish.
There still is a lot of Weak Fish around, don't know how long they will be there.
Water temp 64 -65 degrees.

I don't know why anyone would be using balloons for Stripers, have to read this one?
If the winds hold up this weekend, will be trying to catch a Bass or two. Fred is two up on me so far.
I'm trying to get Fred and a few other people to join in here.
This site might become a little more interesting if we can get a few more to jump in and since it's for Staten Island?
It might help get me away from that other site.

In the report section I mentioned my friend (Fred) has his boat there, the Vita Bella. As soon as you walk down the main ramp, he is the second or third boat in on the left. He went out yesterday to the hook and he got nothing but Skates and Doggies.

I am at Nichols in great Kills, I have a 23 ft Proline.

Stan and Mike, just to let you know, I was at the boat yesterday and the water temp is down to 65. Those bass should be showing their beautiful heads now. Just sitting on the boat I was getting some nice reading in my slip. Sorry for the retype, this doesn't have an edit feature.

By the way just to let you guys know
Was out off of the Conference House last weekend
and the blues were really running
Also read an article in one of the papers
Not sure if it was the Post, Daily News
or Advance but it said that Raritan Bay was still holding the Blues and snappers really well
for so late in the season and that Ole Mom Nature
seems to be a month to 2 behind!

Actually Stan a few years ago I went on a boat out of Sheepshead bay and all we were catching was Sea Robins and a mate said to hold onto them instead of throwing them back.
The Kitchen Mate cleaned them up and actually made Sea Robin Nuggets which was really tasty!
May want to keep that in mind next time you catch a bunch!

thanks mike
i have been all over the place have not seen one on yet
i have tried mostly bunker chunks, slivers, heads, and whole bunker i look at the fish finder and there seems to be alot of fish on the screen but no luck
i have tried the incomming tide outgoing tide lowtide etc
i read a article last week that reported the water was still to warm but i hear other people catching them off the surf
my latest rig set up is a 6/0 or 7/o snelled hook with a nylon leader and a very light weight on the line with one of those slider things
last week i tried all around the channels still nothing (did catch 3 sea robins that were huge
but they only made me laugh when they started to make noises

Stan: I'm in Nichols . I have a friend who keeps his boat in the Tottenville Marina, his name is Fred and the boat is Vita Bella. I usually anchor up, using live nuts, bunker, chunks, heads and at night live eels with a fish finder rig. That's me, some people like to drift and have all their own little secrets.

Especially Staten Islanders. I guess they are all on the Noreast site, which to me is a Long Island thing.

Mike: We went out Saturday for Albies, Blues and maybe a Bass. Went on a friends boat from Jamaica bay. The fog killed us. Anchored by the Marine Pkwy Bridge. We caught over 50 Sea Bass, not one over 11 inches. Fog cleared up around 11:00. Went around breezy, absolutley beautiful out there. Albacore all over, we threw deadly dicks, diamond jigs, coolers, hats and if we had the anchor that too, not a taker and no one was catching anything. The guy in the boat next to us had one on, but he lost it.
Oh yeah, had to cut the anchor at the bridge that's why we couldn't throw it at them.

Mike: No I didn't even try, thanks. Went Weak fishing this past weekend, no weakfish. We had one NJ keeper Fluke, three short Sea Bass and one short Porgy. All went back to haunt someone else. Fished the Reach from Buoy 14 - 21. Just waiting for the water temp to drop. Will try West bank this weekend, give the Bass a shot. Most likely will get the Blues in more ways than one.

I did a Google search for Oakwood Hole and came up with only info about a couple of Cemetries
I would guess it would be off of Oakwood someplace
Best place would be to stop in at the Bait Store on Hylan and (I think Nelson) Great Kills Bait and Tackle and ask them, They would be the closest Bait shop to Oakwood that might know

Hello everyone. I'm a young chef at a big nyc restaurant and I'm looking to fish some salt water. I'm quite good at fresh water fishing, but want some experience in the ocean. Anyone interested in taking me out or have info about charters let me know (I will pay and/or cook). Much appreciated. dyasharian@gmail.com

voytek .. ur using the right bait bluefish luv cut bait ex. bunker mackeral . it very well could be the spot. i fish every weekend on my friends boat and if we catch either a stingray or a shark we move cause we know thats all thats around there!!
Try using clams for striped bass and even bunker blues will hit the exact same things!
try fishing closer to the point i feel it's a better bass+bluefish spot i do all my night fishing there off the beach!
