I give up,but the most important part of the change is that every Abalone will need to be tagged. The report card will have 24 removable tags that your required to thread through one of the siphion holes on the shell. The specific wording that you can "give" or gift your previous days catch is some good news though. Bloody decks forever!! |

Blackie Would it be worth catching a couple hundred macks to use as chum or bait a few months from now? I remember reading that they make great Ling Cod bait. Anyone want to hook up next Wed/Thur and make some bait? |

Went to Virges today, impressed to see that they have better prices than Bass Pro on their Shimanno reels. Also, since I was in Morro bay, I had to check the trash can by the cleaning station. There were some Tuna heads as big as a car tire...Somebody must have had a good time |

Is anyone looking for a cat or two? Alright this is the situation, I have 12 cats not by design but due lack of family planing,, ooops. They are good cats and I besides having to many, I have a heart and would rather them go to a good home than have them killed or worse set them astray. They are all fixed, lovable and are guaranteed to break you heart someday. |

Like Joe and Marty mentioned, there's all the mackerel you want out there. I was surprised to see the spanish mackerel in pretty good quantities. Per person, we caught about 75 pacific and 25 spanish. The spanish are great smoked, they have a whiter meat than the others. The difference is pacific are the ones we ususally catch with the blue squiggly marks on the back, and spanish are green with a crooked lateral line, they are also called jack mackerel. Both are equally fun to catch. |

Aloha from Hawaii, boys and girls. I want you to know how lucky we are to have such a cool Fish Reports community on the mainland. I got online here to try to hook up with other fishermen and there is only one guy who posts. He in one of the charter guys in Kona. Great info, but no chatter like we have. I don't have a boat here yet, but will try to find someone to share fuel costs with so I can get out on this glassy sea. Aloha from Kawaihae.. Will |

Rad 21, It doesn't take a moderator to answer that one sir. No, there's not a spam policy. There's fishermen posting their items for sale on here all the time. Especially so now, due to the slowness of the fishing. (Sand dabs & Perch) Mike; I don't even know the guy and wish 'ill' on anyone. Everyone who knows me, knows I buy & resell as a business. There's a few on this site I've sold fishing related items to in the past. (Don't need to mention any names, they know who they are) I'm no different than the next fisherman. I'm getting 'antsy' and want to be out there and catching fish too ! I wish everyone a good upcoming fishing season. May you all catch all the fish you want and make it home safe after every trip. |

Thanks for the unpervoked advertising Mike. I see you're still upset that I bought a boat before you got to it. It's for sale if you're looking for a good deal. (NOT as good as a deal as I got) As for the outboards... You were correct. I had 5. 2 of which are now sold to HAPPY buyers. (Because I gave them good deals) What they wanted @ a price they were willing to pay. Oh, and the generator is still available too ! As for the Yamar disel Mr. Ferguson... Had you known how to read the 'post' of the motor in question... You'd see it's not even my engine. I was doing a fellow angler a favor in letting them know there's repower options available out in the marketplace. Had it been my motor... I'd shove it up your ass until you puked disel fuel. Now quit bothering these nice fisherfolk and myself on this site with your childless cryin' and wimpering because someone beat you to a good deal. You know damn well you only signed up on this site to try and harass me. It didn't work on Craigslist when you posted bogus items for sale and gave my Ph# as part of the ad. And it's not going to work here either. Nuff said...PERIOD ! |

Rob... Not sure what kind of motor you are looking for, but my brother has a 4cyl gas 160 hp that he is taking out of his boat....So it would be a motor and out drive.... You could test drive it before you bought it.... Its a good motor but he wants to do an outboard motor on a bracket. Give me a call 610-4498 You could get it for cheap. Jim |

Hello fellow vlounteers, Just returned from L.A. yesterday. Steve, and Will, thank you, for the come back. Look forward to working with everyone helping out with the seminar. We can still use more volunteers. Feel free to contact me. (805) 235-1866 P.S. Talked with Michele, today and she is looking to secure the date on Tuesday. Her sand dab trip retuned with 113 sand dabs, and over two hundred Spanish and Pacific Machral. Has another trip for next weekend. Went out of San Diego, Thrusday, night for Humbolts, only one caught for two boats. Wind 1.7 knots, too much drift to get to the bottom. Best regards, Joseph Anderton |

John You have some reel good area there , I think its 5th street and pac , there are stairs to access the beach there is a little park across the street, I fish that area a lot on the incomung tide I fish from the stairs, north to just past the rocks , I am in the water , if you dont want to get wet, and fish with surf gear and bait fish that beach just past the rocks to the north , have seen guys doing well there , sometimes theres a lot of salad in the water, if thats the case you might want to just try the pier , plus you will not need a licence off the pier. Marty- The gray whales are headed south right now, they run from point to point, so if you go to buchon or estero, look around 150 ft. of water, but if you go west, look in 300-400 feet of water. There should be a lot of them right now. Steve- Thank you, can we use your chafing dishes again too? Those are a life-saver. |

Bob, right off the top of my head I think the transom fasteners wont line up, maybe I'm wrong. then the engine mounts wont be the same on the stringers, maybe not a big prob. Then the control cables need changing, the volvo controls are different. If it's a DIY, lots of effort. cost depends on how much you can adapt. Wouldn't you rather have a nice 25 searay with new motor and outdrive? |

Marty....a decent sand dab rig is pretty basic....a sabiki rig with a torpedo (weight according to depth and current) at the snap end....and another torpedo at the forward end....tip each hook with a little bit of squid....you want weight at each end to keep all the hooks flat and dragging on the bottom....this way always seems to work a bit better for me that the conventional way to use a sabiki. On another note, fished the surf down here at Refugio yesterday afternoon....nailed them there a week and a half ago but not yesterday....every cast loaded with salad, virtually impossible to fish the place. |
