James
Take it back and get it fixed before going out
again, Thats a safety issue that needs to be
fixed before it gets stuck in gear and you wind up motoring over to Europe

James, I would bring it back to Lockwood. With the few dealings I have had with them I find they are pretty reliable.

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping you can help me with a mechanical issue. I have a 2005 Volvo I/o. Great engine. Two weeks ago I had an issue with getting the engine out of nuetral. I was giving her gas but she did not get out of nuetral. I brought it to Lockwood and the mechanic told me the problem was that the cable was stuck from sitting still over the winter and that he disconnected the cable, greased it and it now it's fine.

I took the boat out on Saturday and the boat went right into gear but with only one issue. The shifter was so hard I had to give it a lot of pressure in order to get the boat going. When we got to the fishing spot and I tried to put it back into nuetral it was even tougher. It took a lot of effort in order to get her back into nuetral. I felt as if I was going to brake something.

Also when we went to move spots, the boat again wouldnt get out of nuetral but after a few mintues it "fell" into nuetral and the shifter was still tough to operate.

I think it could be a few things:

1. The friction setting on the cable- Lockwood might have set it to hard.
2. They never fixed the original problema nd I will need to bring it back.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks in advance.

We have no police, coast guard or park police presence any longer to monitor these lunatics. Tried calling the Park, Harbor Patrol, nothing, but park in the park without the permit and you will see how fast they can be found.

Hi Guys
Friggin company changed my schedule again
Im working all weekends until further notice
Last time I went over to Crookes Point and
your Marina it was crazy
Had my son with me and was totally insane
The beach was filled to capacity with all sorts
of knuckleheads going for the bunker and just
casting out without looking over their shoulder
Actually had one bonehead almost hit me with a
decent sized bunker when he cast out without
looking and he had a B's to tell me to watch out for him
Another thing was that there were a bunch of
boats right up on the beach, and dig this
they were casting towards the beach
It was a major accident waiting to happen
Im just wondering how many people got snagged
that night
Wound up going to the docks by the parking area
where the fence ends near the Marina and had
a good time with my Son
Was going to try and go out yesterday evening
but it wa WAY TOO HOT so got soaked playing
with the hose instead

Stan: Has Richie checked out your boat yet?
Fished this weeend, only Bluefish and big ones up to 15 lbs.
What a bordello down at the marina with all those NJ boats looking for Bunker. Thses Aholes were right in the slips, banging into boats. When they were told to leave they were telling people to go F--K themselves. It's getting bad and the next thing after they get into the slips, poly rope will be thrown in right after them.
Nichols is a private marina!!!!!!!!!!
Mike/Stan,how did you do over the weekend?

Stan:
Caught my first Bass of 2008, it was right off my dock along with 15 Blues, from 8-12 lbs. All the Blues were returned so someone else can catch them.
The Bass was 39" and 21 lbs.
Will send you a picture.
Will be be going out Sunday, early. Not sure about Saturday.
Too many crazies in the harbor right now.
Since I just retired I can pick my day's.
Richie will show up and you wouldn't even know it. When he did my cockpit cover, I didn't even know he was there until I went on the boat and found it on the chair.
Great guy.

I called him again and left the number on his voice mail.
Just tell him you know me, George from Nichols.
We have been getting Bass and Blues right off our dock. Blues up to 12 lbs and Bass to 37 inches.

Did Richie ever call you, if he did what did he quote?
I don't know much about the boat, 28ft single, might be a bit too much.
I heard someone call for the Pinstripe Princess, was low, I replied but no answer. Most likely out of range.

Stan, it seems a little high.
Want me to give him a call and ask him for a estimate, I have to call him anyway?
What kind of boat, year, model and length. I think he charged me around $1100.00 five years ago, but that was without the frame. I already had it.
Stan, I would go with Richie, he stands by his work and believe me I am not kidding.

hi guys hope everyone got a nice sunburn this weekend
as for my adventures here is a little story!!!
left work in the bronx on friday around 1:30 went home picked up trailer to pull boat out and take down to tottenville marina to fix gimbel bearing, hooked up with mike the boat mechanic he said he would take a look at it.. the next thing i know mike is taking off my outdrive in the parking lot at greatkills ( this guy is great)mike runs around like crazy to get a new bearing and boot which was cracked. next we are back at the boatyard in nichols marina this guy worked on my boat from 4pm and finished at 10pm (outstanding man)
now for the bad news the transom housing which holds the bearing and boot is rotted out and will not take a watertitght seal, but mike uses the marinetex for a temp fix for the weekend, so i leave the boat at the marina for saturday and pickit up sunday morning so the marinetex hardens
went out on monday morning @ 7:00 nice day out tried out near hoffman island (nothing) shot over to the vz (nothing) shot over to romer sholles (nothing) thank God for the beer and friends!! water was a little choppy but as the day went on the water calmed down alittle!!
last shot was out past gk park picked up a 10lb blue other than that nothing
water was very mucky and alot of stuff floating around,
went back cleaned up and hung out at the raw bar for a bit
ohh almost forgot had to replace a battery also monday am (hey its only money right)
hope everyone had a great time over the weekend

Just got back from Lemon Creek Park
Wanted to go over to GK but My Son Slept in
and we got a late start
Thought we were going to try for Blues
but when we got there there was only two other fishermen on the Pier
After talking with them and looking at the
water conditions, My Son wanted to do some bottom
fishing, So I set up up with Clams and I tried
my favorite lure, (Silver shiny one that My Dad gave me about 25 years ago!)
Anyway hooked up with a 15 inch Sea Robin
and grabbed 4 more before calling it a day and having to go to work
All of them were in the 15 inch range and
alot of fun pulling in

Anyone else score???
