Just got back from a fishing trip in San Quintin,July, 2007. Weather beautiful!!!!!!Overcast and very cool in the am...take warm clothes! Warm in the afternoon. Fishing was very slow for yellow tail, but bottom fishing was excellent! Ramone from Tito's Pangas was a great guide, very knowlegable and easy going. We stayed at Don Eddys hotel...this place left ALOT to be desired! No A/C, no fans, no windows that opened, no phone, no t.v. and floors were VERY dirty! The shower was terrible...shooting salt water in your face as you were pressed up against the door trying to get away from the onslaught! We ate at The Mill Resturant and were never dissapointed, the food and service were terrific, we highly recomend the coffee! All and all we had a great trip and will go back, just not stay at the same hotel! |

Just returned from our annual San Quintin fishing trip. The first day was water like glass and excellent rock fishing. Went out with Tiburons and caught limits of huge reds in the 7-8 lb. range in 2 hrs. ( its easy with 5 hooks ) then we trolled for yellowtail for nada. The second day was a different story. Headed out 16 miles and water was clear and blue.Trolled for about 5 minutes and it didn't take long for the action to begin. Trolled for about 2 hrs. and landed 3 yellowfin in the 18-33 lb. range and 3 dorado up to 35 lb. Action slowed so we finished the day rock fishing in 380 ft of water ( man, thats a lot of cranking !) for some huge ling cods (27" to 40" !!wow).Going back in Nov. for white sea bass TIGHT LINES TO EVERYONE!!! ......James |

Just returned Wednesday from Ensenada. Fished Sunday with Sergios Sportfishing on the Clipper II and Monday with Vonny's on a panga. Sunday we had live bait with the Clipper and caught Reds, Calicos, Sandies, Lings, Sculpin and Boccacio. Monday on the panga used all artificials. The rubber scampis worked best for basically the same catch as we did Sun with live bait. Ensenada is still experiencing a severe red tide condition that has really put a damper on local fishing. We didn't hear of any Yellowtail or Albies being caught while we were there or recently either! I still have space on my bus trip to San Quintin over the Labor Day weekend. See my ad/site here on Fish Reports.Net Let's go Fishing! |

Just in from a trip just south of Ensenada in a town called San Quintin.Spent 2 days fishing and loaded up on some quality yellow tail from 20- 35 lbs. Action was non stop.Chartered a boat 26ft(new) for my son and I at Tito's Pangas. El Capitan (Roman) was a superior locator for these fish. Exellant time... Going back soon to do it again.. Water temp was 67 degrees 6 miles out . the tuna and dorado were also biting on the mexican flag (feathers)and the giant brown rapalas..... |

Does anyone know if it is legal to fish for the Great Whites at Guadalupe Island? Can you keep one or is it catch and release only? |

Subject: Fishing off Ensenada
The fishing off Ensenada is as ggod as it gets right now. I just returned from 4 days at the Coral with all the Albacore you could want foaming on the corners. Nicer fish too, up to 40 Lbs. Pady fishing excellent as well with many Dodos and Yellows holding on most of the kelps. All of the action is between 18-40 miles out of the marina heading 220 to 240 degrees. If you have a chance, now is the time to head on down to the Mexico offshor banks.
See Ya Down There,
