Going back to the doctor tomorrow to have the stent taken out (ouch).
Will be fishing with Sal and Lloyd on Saturday, trying to catch that elusive 21 inch Fluke before the season ends on Monday. |

Went to the hospital Thursday night, they blasted the stone Friday afternoon.

How did you do?
Sal and Lloyd went out today, hit our usual spot by the Marine Parkway Bridge and they caught over 50 Fluke, not one keeper. Plenty of FAT 19 1/2 inch fish. They only fished for three hours, the have a tide issue where they keep their boat.

Heard on the Weather Radio that the NWS saw

Saturday, noticed a ton of boats Fluke fishing the Ambrose. Reports are, there are a lot of Fluke being caught off the Ambrose from the Bridge on down.
Just off the VZ, Brooklyn side, the water was boiling with Bluefish feeding and two boats sitting right in the middle of all that action. I wanted to get out of the car and jump in. |

Hit the harbor on Sunday, two short Fluke, returned. It seemed I was the only one throwing these fish back. Where are all parks, DEC or the police, There wasn't one walking the beach checking fish. We were out there all day, 09:30 till 18:00. They did have two parks police cars, four officers, stopping cars from going into the beach area parking lot, it was full.
They want us to have salt water license's, for what????????? No one checks now, can you imagine when they get more money, watch out Dunkin' Donuts !!! |

Went fishing Saturday with Michael and his son Tommy, 20 Fluke, no keepers. Sunday I went with Lloyd, we caught over 35 Fluke, not one keeper. Amazingly, over 50 fish returned, not one died. We had a bunch of 19 inch fish, which we tossed back.
I'm starting to think what other fisherman are doing is correct, keep a stringer hanging over the side of the boat with those 18 to 20 inch fish and when approached, just cut the stringer. Just a thought, I can't do that.
I have come to this conclusion, there aren't any more keeper Fluke in Jamaica.

Went with Sal and Lloyd, I caught 17 Fluke
(no keepers), Sal and Lloyd got six each, with each one getting a keeper.
Total 29 fish caught with two keepers!!

Mike, there isn't anything like having your own boat. I know there are problems, but you can go where you want, you don't have to worry if you catch fish or not, because if you don't catch you yell at yourself (which I did a lot) not the captain of a PB. Even if you don't fish, just go down to the marina with the wife and kids, BBQ, have sandwiches and a little vino.
Got tired of gabbing with me, did YA !!!!
We all should get together one day.

g i have not been there for a season but it was not bad on the c,d,e docks 2 seasons ago i was at the b dock which i had problems at low tide getting in

Stan, Glad to see you are still here.
It seems to be a bad year for boats, Fred's brand spanking new Amberjack is out of the water, big outdrive, hydrolics and other problems, your problems and my engine siezed. Will not give them six to eight grand for a brand new engine. I don't want a rebuilt one, did that seven years ago. I will miss the Pinstripe princess !!!!!

By the way
Big J and myself went out over to GK this afternoon trying your idea of the idea
of going out after the high tide for a couple of hours
Well we got a Big Blue Claw as well as three
massive Horseshoe crabs
The Horseshoes were returned to continue their job
but the Blue Claw was very nasty so we just had to teach him a lesson about respect, Boy was he good!
Nobody was catching anything there so we moved over to the beach at the end of Seguine Avenue
Alot of bait fish flying around but nobody was catching anything there either except the Birds who were grabbing the baitfish!

Heard by the Marine Parkway Bridge at the end of Flatbush Avenue where Flatbush crosses over into The Rockaways
I usually go to the end of Gerrittsen Avenue in Gerrittsen Creek
We use the beach
No boat here all the stuff we do is off the

After they cleaned it up been seeing some guys

Hey Mike, I think I am banned from Noreast. I was looking to see if Sal or Lloyd went fishing and saw this thing on party boats fishing for Fluke during the off season, so I asked a question. The moderator came back with this nasty reply, so I gave it back. |

Mike, do not let those a-holes on Noreast know about this site. Let's try and keep it for Staten Island fisherman only. I just wish all of my friends in Staten Island, who I did tell about this site would switch over, but they are staying with Noreast.

I totally agree with you
I posted a reply on the board for something
that I liked on Friday evening and one of those
knuckleheads locked me out for a day til the
operator unlocked me late Saturday night
Just thought it was funny because I stopped by here
and saw your Pix and then went there and
saw it also and had to leave a note there to see
if you could figure out who I was there!

I usually don't post on Noreast, because that site is mainly for Long Island and I get into too much crap with those people. I posted so one of my friends can check it out.

We caught 27 Fluke today by the MPB, I caught two, one 22 and one 21 inches. Lloyd caught one 21 inch Fluke.

Well we hit Jamaica Bay again, no Blues or Stripers!!!! So we tried Fluke, I caught the only two shorts, one 17 1/2 and one 19 inches, Both went back to get bigger for next years new reqs.
I heard the new Salt Water Licence will go in effect on 06.15.2009???????? Did any of you guy's hear anything, because that doesn't seem right and I can't find anything on it??????
