KZN SHELLY BEACH AFTER THE RECENT STORM SURF AND HEAVY RAINS BOTTOM FISHING HAS BEEN VERY POOR WITH LITTLE OR NO SHOWINGS ON THE FINDER BOTTOM STRUCTURE ON THE INSHORE HAS BEEN ALTERED AS WELL.IT SEEMS AS IF THE SLIGHTEST INCREASE IN SWELL HAS AN EFFECT ON THE SEDEMENT ON THE BOTTOM TURNING THE FISH OFF.WE ARE MAINLY TARGETING TUNA AND CUDA AT THE MOMENT AS THE GAME FISH DON`T SEEM O BE EFFECTED.THE SHARKS ARE STILL IN FULL FORCE. |

The South Easter has dropped and the Tuny have come back on the bite.
Yellowfin of 80+ kgs are being landed at up to 20 a boat plus Longfin are comming in at up to 60 a boat.
Elf have been caught in the Strand beach are in great numbers along with a reasonable number of god size Kob and Geelbek.
No reports of Gurnard have come in as yet, but with Cptn Dave expected back on the water in the next week this is bound to change for the better.
Cptn Dave's boat, "Master Baiter", has been totaly refitted and has had two Gurnard fighting chairs mounted with high power flush potties affixed to each, now each chair can be outmounted to avoid unpleasant accidents to the ghillies. |
