Hi Amir, The PE rating refers to the "load" rating. PE1 rating on a fishing rod will mean that the rod is meant to hold the stress of having maximum 10lbs line whereas PE2 will be for those rods which are designed to handle the stress/load exerted by 20lbs line. These ratings doesn't necessarily mean that they will be able to hold deadweights of the same mass. PE2 rods should be able to handle fishes up to 5kgs bearing in mind that they will create greater drag when they are alive and swimming. From my own personal experience, having light tackle set up is really fun. At least we are giving a chance for the fish to fight.....for a while. Unless aiming for really big fish, while bottom fishing, PE3 (max 30lbs line)is more than enough in these waters. As for trolling, PE4-5 rating should suffice. Cheers! |

Hi Abdul, Can you explain what does PE rating mean. Does this have to something with the strenght of the rod, reel & line or its someting else. rgds amir |

Currently, already received confirmations from Kim, Mohammed, Anton & Kit. ONLY 1 more slot available. AED150-160/angler. Baits and handline inclusive. Hi Abdul, If this guys name is either Bassar or Karim (some German guy) its a waste of time and money they have no spots but many excuses. I'd rather cast off the rock then go with them. But best of luck and wishes if it is not them :-) and hope you have a great catch. Cheers, Ashley |

Went out for some sea fishing with the gang comprising of Ashley, Kim, Kit, Mohammed and myself. Left the diving village, near Shindagha at around 6.15a.m. First few spots were not very productive. sea was as flat as a mirror with light gust of wind which was quite pleasant. The temperature was quite bearable as compared to the city. We then arrived at a spot which was literally "infested" with baraccudas. We were pulling them out of the water non-stop using jigs. Kit was the best jigger while I was the worst one as I lost three of my favourite jigs to the baraccudas At the next few spots, we caught Sheries, Sultan Ibrahims and Breems. Total catch was about 30kgs, which was quite good considering the curent temperature and also the water tide level as there was almost no current during most part of the session. We returned at around 12.30p.m. Cheers! |

Hi Sultan, Yes, I read the post about your trip. I am not sure about the gate number but its the first gate (if you come from Makhtoum bridge). When we get in the park, there is a Pier sort of area, where they tie a few wooden boats (for joy rides). As I am off on thursdays & fridays, I would be going again on this thursday at around 4p.m. I usually go to Creek park at around 4pm as the water is usually at high tides at this time. rgds Amir |

Hi Amir, Nice to hear about your catches despite the current heat. Do believe that during these days, when the gusts wind is very strong and considerably rough sea conditions, we should limit our fishing activities to the shore. Additionally, the fishes are also seeking shelter from the rough seas thus more of them near the shores/inland canals. Cheers! |

I think the season is starting off though it is pretty hot still. Yesterday went to Creek park. The water was on the higher side and plenty of nagroors of more than 0.5 kgs. As I did not have alot of bait so left in 45 minutes but managed to get 3 nagroor weighing in total about 2kgs. There was another guys fishing with a float with bread as bait. By the end of day he must has caught atleast around 8-10 kgs of fish. Regards Amir |

Hi Sultan, Good to hear that you managed a good catch. Can you also provide other details such as how much did the trip cost, what bait you used and the size of you catch. What time did you leave and get back. Every one else here is hibernating as its very hot now. regards Amir |
