i just want to say thanks to all of the guys who fished the hot spoy yesterday out of Morro Bay. We all worked together to find the fish yesterday. We ended up with 5 fish on Board. Two on bait and 3 on fish traps.We also lost two on fish traps, 25lb test 50lb fishing and snap!!!!I would recomend using fish traps on the troll around the boiling fish.Then drop bait upon hook up. Be prepaird, the fish a big, and fight the whole way in. Last hook up was a double on fish traps at 4:30 and picked up a bait fish on 25lb test. It went 50lb+, hour later he was on the boat. Turned out to be a beautiful day on the water.Don't always believe the weather reports.

Ken;
If you see Scott tell him I said hi,
we are trying to get the albis to go down here , so far it been real spotty, we went 51 miles out last week when my oldest son and and his wife were down , we had too jig strikes and farmed the first one , my daughter in law did her best just let the fish whip her pulled on him to long and he came off, my son did manage to put one in he boat , his first a 38#, but it was a long day and about 48 gallons of fuel and at $3.00 + it makes then fish very expensive per pound.
Gonna jump on the long range cattle boat tomorrow and save my fuel.
Thanks for the come back Ken, and you guys up north catch them fish

Blackie- Scott sold the Sangria and now has the CARINA. Limits of big Kings are being caught between Kehoe, 10 mile and Abbotts Lagoon. When weather permits, troll and mooch limits come pretty easy. Some nice halibut are also coming on the mooch. These are very big fish that are "Hot". The don't want anything to do with a landing net. I think they are mature fish getting ready to make the turn thru the gate and up into the Sacramento system.

Hey thanks, been down to morro a bunch of times. nice area. fished out of avilla about a month ago, the boat came home with five in the cooler. the oceans a little more forgiving down there. anyways the wind hasn't slowed down at all my boat broke away from my slip one day needless to say its out of the water. That's alright though because im going to mexico on monday to fish for marlin tuna and dorado. i can't complain. post again when i get back. tight lines.

well since i got a response (regardless of location) im going to put up my report for the weekend here it is as follows:
Saturday we took off from the marshall docks around 7am and had five fish in the boat by 10am. and missed two others. Once again they were hitting the redhead rotaries but were also hitting the clear (running one clear and two reds) the fish were a little deeper we were pulling somewhere around 80 to 90 pulls with two pound balls in 300 feet of water west of bodega head about 3 miles. GREAT day of fishing considering we were back on the dock by noon. Sunday went out to the mouth but it was breaking all the way across, so we decided to do some halibut in the bay. Needless to say we had three strikes trolling anchovies with a two hook rig and one silver flasher and one blue flasher. once the tide came in it slowed down so we were off the water by 1pm. anyways, thats the report from the bloody deck of the little yellow boat. thanks for reading serenity. have another for you sometime this week (if the wind gets out of here) thanks again.

fishing west of bodega head 4 miles out this weekend and lite them up, we were using red salmon killers and it seemed to work really well. running one line with a silver flasher and one without at 40 pulls. and both were hooking fish. let me know if anyone reads this because its a waste of time to put up a report if no one is reading it. thanks

hello all,

well had one hit and release on saturday off of tomales point. guess the fish were out a little further judging by all the reports i've read this morning. unfortunately i couldn't get out there on sunday but i heard the waves and wind were mild all day. anyways Im a new member to this website and just wanted to say that i'll be posting "my" report here the day after i fish wether it be outside the mouth for salmon or for halibut in the bay (depending on the waves and wether i can get out the mouth or not) im also hoping this might encourage more fishermen in my area to post their report on this as well. Seeing how the last post was from like two years ago. anyways, tight lines to all.

For the cod, ask for hex bars and diamond bars (one aech at 10 & 14oz), ball weights in the 10 - 16 oz range, 30lb leader material, shrimp flies and #4 swivels. I don't know where you are goiung or how deep, talking to your tackle shop can be helpfull.
Good luck & tight lines.
