Subject: Fished Lake Macho

Fishing Magician Charters

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Dan Robin, his son Casey, Pete Babin and his two sons Pete and John.

We started the day off by picking up some of Campo's live shrimp. Remember, it has the reputation of catching fish or die trying. Since the wind was really doing some blowing I decided to fish Lake Macho. We fished a couple of rigs and caught 85 speckled trout in the 13-18" range. The fish were caught on live shrimp and the Specklizer. We quit around 10:30, one of the guys had to get home early.

If you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one.

Fishing Magician Charters

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Larry, his wife Darlene, and Darlene's dad Richard. Richard came in from Michigan to visit and Darlene wanted him to experience some of our great Louisiana fishing.

It was too windy to go off shore today so we headed deep into the Biloxi Marsh. We caught 15 reds going 3-10 lbs., one trout, and one flounder. All fish were caught on dead shrimp about 18" under a popping cork. They called it a day at about 11:30 a.m. So, we headed in. I would like to say I really enjoyed today too.

Subject: Biloxi Marsh, outside of New Orleans

Fishing Magician Charters

A beautiful day today. When I got up this morning it was blowing hard out of the N.W. I got my boat ready and picked my guests up at the lodge. I knew it would be too rough to fish the big reds on the outside, so I took them to the Biloxi Marsh.

Ed, Glenn and Glenn's son A.J. came in from Spring Field, Louisiana. They are developing a golf course at Carter Plantation and wanted a day off to relax.

Luck was with us. We caught 20 reds in the 3-10 lb. range, one drum, one founder, and 4 speckled trout. All fish were caught on dead bait 2' under a popping cork.

I didn't get to take any pictures because my camera isn't working.

If you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. We have private accommadation if needed.

Fishing Magician Charters

I had the pleasure of taking out Kenneth Huitt, Walt Carl Jr.from Carrollton, Georgia, John Smoothie Cutrera, John Grantham from Texas, and Richard Papa Bodet. These guys are all over 65 years young and act like they are all young college students. They have known each other since elementary school and have stayed in touch with each other. Guys I enjoyed every minute of the trip.

We started our day at Campo's Boat Launch, one guy purchased his license and I purchased fuel, bait, and ice. It was about 6:00a.m. when we head out. We headed to Breton Sound. When we got to the mouth of the MRGO we found 1 1/2' seas. I knew the guys wanted to catch some big reds so we kept on going. We made one stop at Pogo which wasn't prosperous. The waves didn't seem to be bothering anyone, so we continued onto Central.

Success at the first two wells we stopped at!!! Once we started catching fish, Ken was busy making a movie of his friends catching fish. We picked up Drums 4-6 lbs., sheepshead 3-5 lbs., redfish 8-10 lbs,. and one trout. We filled the 150 qt. cooler to the top.

These guys were a blast to fish with and I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did. Oh, I hope Richard finds his pole he misplaced.

All the fish were caught on the bottom using dead bait. If you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one.

We have accomadations if you need them.

Fishing Magician Charters

This afternoon I was sitting around with Dan and Casey Robin while waiting for out last inspection on the apartment building. We decided to try out the trout. So as soon as the last inspection was passed we headed out to the MRGO.

Our first try was the marsh along side of Lake Borgne. We fished about an hour or so catching 25 trout.

The trout ranged from 1 1/2-4 1/2lbs. The trout are really starting to hit with this warm weather. All of the trout were caught with live minnows 2' under a popping cork.

Remember if you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. We still have 2 apartments left for rent if you want a beautiful apartment right on Shell Beach Bayou.

Late report from Friday. I had the pleasure of taking out Otis Smith and his grandson Skye from Alabama.

We left from Campo's Boat Launch around 6:00a.m. and headed to the Biloxi Marsh. We fished the Muscle Bay and the Lake Eugene area. The water was low that day so we couldn't get into the back lagoons where I like to go. We caught reds 3-10 lbs., sheephead and drums 4-5 lbs. Otis said that this was the best trip he has had in a long time. His friends convinced him that he needed to try Southeast Louisiana, because they thought it was the best. When we got in Otis took pictures of the fish so he could show his sons the success he and his grandson had. Otis is planning a return trip with his sons in May.

All fish were caught on dead bait 2' under a popping cork. Skye caught a whopper that took two arms to hold! It is really nice to see a grandfather spend time and enjoy his grandson. We really had a nice day and great success.

Fishing Magician Charters

Today I had the pleasure of taking out Theresa and Sue. We started early this morning by picking up some live minnows from Campo's Boat Launch.

Then, we fished the Stumpt Lagoon/Muscle Bay area. Three stops were made and we picked up 15 reds and 1 trout. All of our fish were caught 2' under a cork using minnows.

Three stops is all we made when Theresa and Sue were ready to head in. They both said that they were not coming back until spring, which is when they will be able to feel their toes. These ladies are dedicated fisherwomen, but it really was cold early this morning.

It's always a pleasure to fish with these two ladies. They know how to fish and to enjoy themselves.

Fishing Magician Charters

This is a two trip report.

Friday I took out Theresa and Sue for a windy trip to the marsh. We fished the Muscle Bay area. Quite a few reds were caught, a few speckled trout in the 12-14" range, and a few sheepshead. Everything was caught 2' under a popping cork using live shrimp. We called it a day around noon. While I cleaned the fish the girls sat around eating some boiled crabs and enjoying the day, relaxing at the camp.

Yesterday I fished with Brian, David, Willie, and Steve. We fished the Biloxi Marsh around the Lake Eugene area. Our mission was to target the reds, which we did. At the end of the day we had 18 reds, in the 4-10lb range. Also about 5 trout and 10 sheephead to go with it. The guys had to be in about 12-12:30, because their friends were waiting for them.

Everybody seemed to have a great time, they couldn't say enough about the reds.

If you want to have some fun and catch some fish, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. Give us a call to book a night at our accommadations.

A small school in our area called Sebastien Roy Elementary is putting on their "Fourth Annual Fishing Rodeo" on Nov. 2, 2002 at Hopedale Marina.

I fished today with Chris, David, Nicole, and Gary. Since it was so very windy, I decided to fish the inside waters. I had called Chris last night to ask him if they want to reschedule or face the elements, but Chris said they really wanted to fish today. So, we headed to the Biloxi Marsh to chase some reds.

We had a hard day. The water was real high, about a foot in the marsh. It was hard to even find the reds. We ended the day with:
16 reds 3-8 lbs
5 trout
3 sheepshead
1 black drum
1 flounder

Talk about the weatherman being wrong about his forcast concerning the wind. All in all, I think we had a pretty good day considering the weather. Everyone said they had a good time.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork, fishing the windy sides of the ponds.

Subject: Great Fishing in Breton Sound

Fishing Magician Charters

One crazy group today!!! From the time I picked them up till I dropped them off there was laughter going on. They really knew how to have a good time, and catch some fish.

This morning I stopped and picked up Dan, Joe, Casey, and Andrew from the lodge La Casa de Pesca. Then, we headed to Campo's Boat Launch to pick up some of their famous live shrimp, that are guaranteed to catch fish or die trying. Believe me shrimp really work.

Next stop was Breton Sound. We fished the little well heads in the vacinity of Dope Boat, where we caught our fish yesterday. However, we had to work a little harder today. At each stop we caught a little and it made us feel we were going to tear them up but, they then turned off like a light switch. But today just goes to show you every day is different.

We managed to catch 72 speckled trout(2-3 lbs.), 4 Bull Reds 15-20lbs, and 8 Sheepshead. All the trout were caught 3'under a popping cork using live shrimp and the reds were caught on the bottom using live shrimp.

Check out the pictures. And I do have a couple of openings this week, give us a call if you need some fun and relaxation. We have some wonderful accommadations for my charters or if a fisherman needs a place to stay the night and park their boat by the lodgings.

Subject: Large Trouts & Reds in Breton Sound

Fishing Magician Charters

Today was one heck of a day!!! God really blessed us with a beautiful day and the chance to get out into our Louisiana waters to catch some fish.

Arthur Borchgrevink, Janet Haydel, James Haydel, and Jonathan Lee all came down this morning. We picked up some live bait and croakers from Campo's boat launch then, we headed to Breton Sound. I had fished there yesterday and left them biting so I headed back. One stop is all it took. As fast as we could get the lines in the water, they were pulling them in.

This was Jonathon's first day of fishing and what a day it was. I had worked with Jonathan for a little while and after that he was fishing like a pro. He caught a 20lb. red, 4lb. trout, and many more.

We put 124 speckled trout in the boat (2-4 lbs.) and our limit on reds. Most of the trout were caught 3 ft. under a popping cork until the rain storm came. Then, we started fishing the bottom using live croakers, till we finished the day.

It doesn't matter how much experience you have. If I get a chance to put you on fish, I will work with you till you to catch them. If you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one.

Biloxi Marsh on a Windy Day

I had a trip for this morning, but it cancelled because of the weather. So, I jumped on the boat with my son Capt. Jason to give him a hand. Boy did I get a work out!!!! They kept hooking reds, and I kept scooping and giving out bait. Capt. Jason's guests were Dan Robin, Patrick Foster, his grandpa John, and Eric.

This morning we stared off fishing the Biloxi Marsh around Muscle Bay, picking up a few reds at every stop. The weather was rainy at first, actually from the time we left the dock. But all the guests were troopers and wanted to head out anyway. As the day progressed the weather cleared up.

We ended the day with:
10 Speckled Trout in the 12-14" range
30 Red Fish running 3-10 lbs.
1 Black Drum
5 Sheepshead
2 Flounders
All of the fish were caught 2' under a popping cork on live shrimp.

The guys on the boat couldn't say enough about the trip. It is always a pleasure to fish with our guests, and I enjoyed fishing with Capt. Jason. I don't get to do it often enough.

The weather has beeen beautiful, but the wind has been really howling. This has kept us fishing on the inside of the marsh. I did inform my group before they made the trip down that I thought today would be a real slow day under our windy conditions.

However, last night Daniel, Howard, Wade and Neil came in from Baton Rouge. They stayed at the lodge and I picked them up very early this morning. We stopped at Campo's Boat Launch for some of their famous live shrimp.

Then, we headed to the Muscle Bay where we started fishing. We started off catching a few trout, we had them going really good for a while, but it came to a dead stop around 8:30. I reminded the guys at this time that I did tell them today would be a slow day. But the guys couldn't believe that today was a slow day, after catching 25 trout and 5 reds at our first stop. They were VERY pleased with our catch at that time.

Then, I decided to move further back into the marsh to catch more reds. We were able to finish our day with a limit of reds (25) going about 3-10lbs, 30 trout, 5 sheepshead, 6 Black Drum, and one flounder. All in all I felt 67 fish on a very windy day is a good day. I took a picture of our nice box of fish. All of our fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using live shrimp.

Rough Day on the Water Today!

Today I took out Richard Scribner and his two young sons Carl and Gil. We started off at Frank Campo's Launch early this morning where I picked up the guys, and some of their live shrimp that are garanteed to catch fish or die trying.

We headed to Breton Sound to fish some wells around the Dope Boat. At the first stop we started putting Trout into the boat, but Gil started feeling bad, and the seas had become 3-4'. So, we headed to the inside where I was able to put him on a platform to settle his stomach. When he started to feel better we started fishing again. Gil really was a trouper, he didn't want to give up.

By the end of the day we caught about 150 trout, but out of the 150 we only kept 40 that were in the 12-16" range; we also caught 6 Sheeepshead. All of our fish today were caught 2-3' under a popping cork. There was so many small trout in the marsh that I felt like we were on a trip to just catch and release. We actually had nonstop action all day!!!!!

As a whole, the trip turned out really nice. Both of the boys enjoyed themselves, even Gil after we let him rest awhile and let his stomach settle.

I had the pleasure of running another trip for Fishing with the King. I had the same great group of guys as yesterday, Phil, Joseph, and Reece. With a group like this my job is easy. All I had to do was put them in the right area and they did the rest. With all the rain around it has been nice and cool to fish.

We started the day off with live shrimp from Campo's Boat Launch and headed to Breton Sound. We fished the little wells around the Dope Boat. And let me tell you, the fish were there. We got right on to some 2-4lb. trout, we put 100 in the boat. Also 4 Reds going 8-10lbs. Phil even put one 30lb. Red in the boat, which gave him one MAGNIFICENT fight. We took a picture then turned him loose to fight another day.

The fish were caught on the bottom and using a popping cork. Check out the pictures to see our nice fish. We actually had my 150qt. cooler running over.

The fish are out and ready to be caught so book a trip and have some fun.

Then we cut across to Breton Sound, found some clean water, and found some BIG fish. We stayed in one spot for the rest of the day catching speckled trout, ranging from 2 to 4 lbs. We fished the bottom with live shrimp and we fished 3 foot under a popping cork, both ways worked today for us. We put 72 speckled trout in the boat, and lost a lot more.

Two Day Report
Friday and Saturaday I had a group of six who came down Thursday to stay at the lodge. Maclin and Wilson Smith, Kenny and Charlie McLean, and John and White Martin came down from Alabama to stay a couple of days and get in some fishing. They had heard a lot of good reports about our fishing and wanted to spend some quality time with their sons.

I picked the guys up at 5:00am and head to Campo's Boat Launch to pick up some of their famous live shrimp guaranteed to catch fish or die trying.

Then we headed to Bay Eloi, made a couple of stops by some wells, and picked up 55 trout. By 10:30 the guys figured they had enough fish and were ready to get out of the heat. And, boy was it hot!!!!!

Dan Robin had a feast of fried fish, jambalaya, french bread, brownies and wine ready for everyone when we arrived back at the lodge. Everyone spent the evening relaxing in the cool air conditioned lodge.

Saturday the dads decided to leave the fishing to the boys. We headed to Bay Eloi where we put 15 trout into the boat right away, we even left them biting. Then the boys asked me if I could get them onto some reds. So, we picked up and headed deep into the Biloxi marsh where I put them on some. They put 20 reds into the boat, sometimes they were even catching 2 at a time. We headed back to the lodge where boiled crabs and barbeque were waiting for us.

These boys could really fish and knew how to enjoy themselves. I really enjoyed fishing with them and can't wait to do it again.

All reds were caught on live shrimp, fishing 1 1/2 feet under a cork. All of our trout were caught 2 feet under a popping cork.

Remember fishermen, it is very hot, bring extra water, a hat and suntan lotion.

Wonderful, Wonderful Day on the Water Wednesday
My guests,David, Jesse, Kenny, Mickey and Terry all came in yesterday morning to fish with me. They met me at Campo's Boat Launch at 5:00, where I had the boat loaded and ready to go. We headed to Breton sound, it was nice and calm so I decide to fish Central for the big boys. At the first stop the action was on. These guys can really fish, they kept me busy all morning fixing lines and boxing the fish.

We ended the day with 80 speckled trout in the 2-5lb. range. We limited out on Bull Reds and turned some loose, 4 Black Drum,1 Grouper, 8 Sheepshead, and 1 Pompino. All fish were caught on the bottom with live shrimp. We had to add a little extra weight to our lines to get past the Lady Fish. After that there was nothing but Trout on. We could not fit all of our fish in the 150 qt. ice cooler. We had to empty out one of our drink coolers to fit the rest. Check out the pictures.

Great group of guys to fish with, they really knew what to do.

A 2 day report.

Yesterday evening my guests were some of our state representatives who came down to spend the night at the lodge, La Casa de Pesca. When they arrived we had boiled crabs waiting for them to enjoy before the fishing trip. While we were fishing our chef was preparing a feast of:
Fried Soft Crabs
Potato salad
Stuffed Bell Peppers
Shrimp Creole
Red Wine

Our trip started at about 4:00p.m., we headed to Lake Borgne to search for trout. We didn't have much tide, so I decided to head to the marsh to fish Red fish. We ended up catching 6 reds before we had to come in.

This morning I got up, and picked up my guests at about 5:00a.m. We headed to Bay Eloi where we made 2 stops, and that is all it took. At about 9:15a.m. with 118 Speckled Trout in the 12-16" range and 12 White Trout we called it a day. Everyone decided they didn't need any more fish so headed in and no one was worried about catching limits. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using live shrimp.

These guys really know how to have a good time and unwind. They were really glad to catch so much fish and still beat the heat of the day.

Today my son Capt. Jason and I both took a group of guests for Fishing with the King. My guests were Stephen, David, John, and Robert from Jackson Miss. We headed out to Bay Eloi about 5:00am to start the day. At the first stop we picked up about 35 Trout, but then they stopped biting. So we made a move to the Short Rocks and the action was on. We ended the day with about 115 Trout. All of our fish were caught 3' under a popping cork using live shrimp.

Guys I really had a nice time fishing with you all. You really knew how to enjoy yourselves.

Capt. Jason had Morrison Sr. and Jr., Jonathon from Pennsylvania, also Allen and his fiance from Shell Beach. They started the day off in Bay Eloi too, fishing different spots here and there. They ended the day with 92 fish (speckled, white, flounder, channel mullet and one sheepshead), and their fish were caught all on the bottom using live shrimp. His guests gave him a compliment and said they really enjoyed the day.

This goes to show you that you never know how the fish are going to be biting. Capt. Jason and I were in different boats, but in the same area, yet he fished the bottom while I fished the top. Always try both ways of fishing before leaving your spot.

YESTERDAY---I took out David Cresson and some of his friends from Baton Rouge. They came down Thurs. evening and stayed at our lodging. Then at 5:00a.m. Friday morning we left Campo's Boat Launch and headed to Bay Eloi where we fished around the short rocks. We caught fish, but we had to move around from place to place to catch a few here and there.

By the end of the day we had about 49 Speckled Trout, 25-30 white Trout, a few Channel Mullets, and 1 Flounder. We did have a lot of throw backs, but that's the way it goes. We fished on the bottom and 2-3' under a popping cork.

These guys were a great group to fish with and I enjoyed the day. They knew how to catch fish and have a good time doing it. If you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one.

At every stop, we caught a few. We had to keep moving all day long. We ended the day with 10 reds, 7 trout, 3 drum and 2 sheepshead.

Yesterday the girls put a whipping on John but today, HE had the upperhand. We all had a great time. They are already dicussing about a trip back in September.

Fishing Magician Charters

Successful day in the marsh considering the weather.
I had the pleasure of taking out John, Lydia, little Jheramie Brown, and daughter Nenah Elam for a return trip. They traveled from Delaware to fish with me again.

We started this morning at 5:00am and traveled to the Biloxi Marsh where we fished the Muscle Bay area. The trout action was slow, so we decided to hunt some reds down. We fished all the ponds and bays around the Muscle Bay area and believe me we found some nice reds.

I am not going to say too much about this, but these girls put a whipping on John. And believe me they let him know who was a real fisherman.

We fished a foot under a popping cork using live bait. We fished all along the shore lines catching a couple here and there. When I fish the ponds I always try to fish the side that the wind is blowing into. That is where I find the bait fish. The day ended with:
20 Reds 3-8 lbs.
6 Black Drum
5 Sheepshead
6 Trout

It is always a pleasure to watch my guests catch fish and enjoy themselves, no matter what the age.

Yesterday evening Dan Robin called and said that he had some friends from South Bend, IN visiting and asked if I'd be their guide. He wanted them to catch some reds, so we loaded the boat at 5:00p.m. and headed to the Biloxi Marsh.

Carmela and George Macri with their 3 children Vinnie, Anthony and Adriana really were excited about this trip because they had never fished in the marsh area before. They had always fished offshore. Dan had accompanied me a number of times and convinced them they would enjoy this trip as much or more than their offshore trip.

At our first stop Adriana hooked into a nice red fish. That started the action. Then Anthony hooked his, then Adriana hooked a black drum. Boy was she excited. She had the hot hand for a while catching black drum, sheepshead, and a couple of speckled trout. The boys hooked a couple more sheepshead so we decided to move and find some reds.

At the next stop I casted Adriana's line out for her, but she wasn't quite ready so I handed to her mother. Her mother caught our biggest fish of the evening, boy was Adriana disappointed. At this spot everyone caught some reds and broke some lines. But we ended the day with everyone catching a red. This family caught on fast to our fishing techniques.

It really puts a smile on my face to watch a child catch their first fish, no matter what kind it is.

Today I fished with the Bickerton family from Picayunne, Ms. Jim, Judy, Scott and Allen all rode down to do some fishing here in southeast LA.

They met me by Frank Campo's Boat Launch where I was loaded and ready to go. Then we headed out to the Breton Sound, where I have been catching a few trout along the short rocks along the MRGO. The spot turned out to be the right spot. We picked up 40 speckled trout. Then the wind picked up and we had to make a move. So we fished Bakers Bay and Half Moon, and all the little cuts and drains. We caught a lot of fish, but also a lot of throw backs.

We ended the day with 55 speckled trout and about 15 white trout in the 12-16" range.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork, using live shrimp. Remember fishermen if you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one.

I enjoyed the day on the water with the Bicerton's. Scott turned out to be a great little fisherman. He really put the fish in the boat.

It was a beautiful day on the water today!! Last week I had the pleasure of fishing with Bill Mc Crary and his wife Sharon. Bill enjoyed the trip so much that he decided to bring his friend John, and John's grandsons Willian and Andrew Watkins this time. They came down from Hattisburg, Ms. to enjoy some of our great fishing here in Southeast LA.

The boys, William and Andrew had never fished in our area before, so I showed them what they had to do, then I let them go. The boys were quick learners. They kept me so busy netting fish and taking fish off that I didn't even wet my line.

We ended the day fishing in Breton Sound with:
42 Speckled Trout
1 Bull Red
I don't even remember how many Sheepshead, Pompano, or Spanish Mackerel we had, but I do know we had one nice box of fish after we threw quite a few back.

We only kept what Bill and John wanted to bring home. All fish were caught on the bottom using live shrimp which we purchased from Campo's Boat Launch.

It is always a pleasure to watch kids hook their fish and watch them fight it. So, if you want to catch fish and have some fun, bring the kids along for some fun. You are never too young or too old to have some fun fishing with the Magician. So, give me a call and book a trip so I can try to make it a memorable one for you.

A really nice day, the clouds helped to keep us cool.

Today my guests were Dan Robin, Pete and John Babin, their friend David, and Pio Lyons who is a well known architect from New Orleans. Everyone wanted to fish the big ones. We picked up our bait at Campo's Boat Launch, then headed to Breton Sound. We fished the platforms and well-heads east of the MRGO, where we caught some nice trout 2-4 lbs. fishing the bottom. At the first stop we got into the trout, but the sharks and Lady Fish were really bad. They kept me busy fixing leaders for about an hour. Then, when the tide stopped the fish stopped.

We managed to put 45 trout, 1 flounder, 1 pompano, 1 bull red and a couple of sheepshead into the boat.

We had a great day but we had to come in a litle early because John stuck his hand really bad with a catfish. And boy do they hurt!!! If you ever fool with a catfish please becareful.

All fish were caught on the bottom with live shrimp.

Remember, if you want to catch fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one.

Today everyone kept talking about the wonderful meal we ate last night at the La Casa de Pesca.

Evening trip pays off!!!!
We stopped at Frank Campo's dock at 5:00p.m.yesterday evening to purchase 200 live shrimp that are guaranteed to catch fish or die trying. And, let me tell you that is what they did.

I had Pete Babin, his wife Maggie, their son John, and friend Dave aboard. This was an evening to remember.

We rode for about 10 minutes to get to Lake Borgne, to a spot I like to fish. Everyone threw their lines out but didn't catch anything at first. Then I threw my line out, popped the cork a few times and hooked the first fish. Bam slam the action was on. After I pulled my fish in, I put my pole down, and it was nonstop action. I kept busy handing out bait and putting fish into the chest. The speckled trout were hot and everything was heated up. We fished for about 1 hour and 45 minutes finishing the evening with 42 trout in the 14-18" range, under a popping cork 2'. Pete and John kept kidding Maggie about being bad luck at first, but let me tell you "The lady can fish, she stayed up with the best."

We quit about 6:45p.m. (left the fish biting) and headed back to the lodge where Dan Robin was waiting to serve us a feast. We had shrimp creole, stuffed bell pepper, potato salad, creole tomato salad, and warm bread pudding.

I would like to thank Dan and Susan for a superb meal.

We all sat around and planned our fishing trip for tomorrow. The evening was a great success.

Today I fished with Dan, Donny, and Mike Robin, Todd Shiflet, and Troy Cooper. We started our day at 5:00a.m. Picked up live shrimp at Campo's Boat Launch, then headed to Bay Eloi. I had left them biting yesterday and thought I'd try again. The fish were still there, and we put 60 trout into the boat by 7:30. The guys wanted to see the area, so we road around and tried a few other spots. We ended up putting 81 specs in the 12-16" range and 20 White Trout. Then we decided to fish some reds, since we had caught our trout so early.

We headed to the inside of Bay Eloi and fished some ponds. We picked up 4 Flounder, 9 reds 3-8lbs. and lost quite a few.

Around 1:30 they decided to call it a day, so we headed back to the camp. All fish were caught under a popping cork 2' down using live shrimp.

I fished today with Sue, Theresa, and Theresa's daughter Brittany Salemi. This was Brittany's first trip.

We had a break in the wind and it was pretty calm, so we headed to Bay Eloi, after we picked up some bait at Campo's Boat Launch. We got onto the fish the first spot. Since it was Brittany's first trip I showed her what she needed to do, and by the time we headed in she was a pro.

We ended up catching 75 Speckled Trout 12-16" range and 5 White Trout. Guys these gals know how to fish! I only fished a few minutes, caught 3 Trout, then let the girls do all the fishing.

Way to go girls you are up there with the best! You are a fun group to fish with.

Around 12:30 the girls decided they were ready to call it a day, so we headed in. My visitors are always the ones who call the shots concerning the time we need to head in. All of our fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using live shrimp.

Beautiful Day On The Water!
Today I fished with Dan Robin, Pete Babin, and Doug Robin. Dan called me up to make a trip to fish for LARGE Trout. So, this morning we headed to Breton Sound. We made a couple of stops in the sound picking up a few here and there, but the guys said "They aren't big enough." So, we went to Central where we found Trout ranging 3-5 lbs. We didn't find plenty, but we caught some really nice fish. In Central we fished the platforms on bottom casting into the current letting the bait sink, then working the bait back to the boat slowly.

All fish were caught on the bottom using live shrimp and croakers.

At about 12:00 we headed in. We ended the day with 20 Trout, 5 Sheepshead, 1 Flounder, 1 Grouper, and 1 Drum. We also lost a lot of fish and caught 1 Hammerhead Shark and a couple of Black Tip Sharks which we threw back.

Everyone had a good time. It looks like the big Trout are starting to show up.

Yesterday I took out Jose R. Mendoz Jr., David, and Mario Zavala. It was a rough windy day in the marsh with the water over the grass.
Check out the pictures.Jose caught the biggest one.

Today...Rain, Rain, Rain
At 4:45a.m. I headed to Frank Campo's Boat Launch to pick-up some live bait. Then, I picked up Ross and Rick Schwalenberg, Debbie Theall, and Bobby Peoples at Proctors Landing in Shell Beach. They were having a rodeo and they wanted to catch some reds and trout.

So, we headed to Biloxi Marsh.
Calm, calm, calm water in between the rain. What a great group of guys and gal.

We caught a variety of species and ended the day with

18 Reds 3-5 lbs" range
25 Trout 12-16" range
1 Flounder
5 Drum
1 Sheepshead
All fish were caught under a popping cork2' down using live shrimp.

Everybody had such a good time fishing that everyone decided to stay fishing instead of making the deadline for the rodeo. They said that they would rather catch fish than worry about the trophy. We were really in the Reds at the time we would have to leave.

We started our day at 5:00, it was as calm as could be. We headed to Black Bay. By the time I got to Lake Machow there was a foot chop. Then when we got to Black Bay the chop was 2 1/2'. We tried fishing by the Wreck, Stone Island, and a couple of rigs, but nothing was biting. Therefore, we took off to Bay Eloi. The water was just as bad. Then we headed to Biloxi Marsh where I have been catching a few in the bayous and lagoons. We didn't start putting fish into the boat until 8:30. What a relief it was to finally catch fish! It took us two stops to put:
70 Speckled Trout 12-16"range
5 White Trout
5 Reds 3-6 lbs.

All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork. Everyone said they really enjoyed the day. You never can tell where you are going to find fish.

What a difference in a day! Yesterday we had to work hard at catching fish, today we had 98 trout(80 speckled, and 18 white trout) by 10:00.

Lyles Budden and his son Adam and friend Justin Bello came in yesterday from Baton Rouge to spent the night at La Casa de Pasca. They met with me at 5:00 and couldn't say enough about how comfortable and happy they were with the accommadations.

We picked up live bait at Campo's Boat Launch and headed to Bay Eloi. The first stop is all it took. We caught all 98 trout, 12-16" range, at the one stop. We actually had to throw the same amout or more back. We had steady action till the end. Adam couldn't get over he caught the most fish! We did catch alot of Catfish too. Remember to bring a lot of bait (I bring no less than 300.), relax and enjoy the day out on the water. Remember this is what it is all about, relaxing and enjoying the day with friends and family.

All fish were caught on live shrimp fishing 2-3' under a popping cork. We found clean water, the water was really pretty along the west shore of Bay Eloi.
